"Great location. Pretty hanging flower baskets. Beautifully newly renovated bathrooms. One of our rooms had visible water damage on the ceiling. Comfortable beds. Easy parking. Walking distance to restaurants, bakeries, stores, and for viewing the beach!"

"The location is great. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants. The restaurant in the lobby is also great. We had breakfast and although the prices were a little high, the portions are generous. The things I didn’t love about the property… the pool location is a walk. The location of the ice machine required going through multiple doors and a call to the front desk to locate where it was. The parking too is also not super convenient. It’s like a maze, once you figure it out it’s fine. All in all we had a good experience."

"The place is funky, and in a nostalgic way. The building itself is ideally located in downtown Old Monterey, steps from the historic adobes, near the wharf, in the midst of the weekly farmer’s market. The building reminds me of Europe, odd staircases, non functional elevators, no parking, this place could be really chic. New beds would be a great start. My room was very clean and a sweet maid was on duty throughout my stay. My windows opened, but without a breeze, there was a ceiling fan, no A/C. This is the heart of Monterey and surrounded by exceptional restaurants. I would highly recommend Alejandro’s, fine Mexican just up the street. Cafe Fina on the wharf for the freshest of seafood with a window on the local otters. I would stay there again. Fingers crossed for a better, quieter bed."

"Great location; easy to get to downtown Monterey, and to Carmel, Highway 1, Point Lobos, Big Sur, etc. There is a Trader Joe's 2 blocks away and many services close by. The room was clean and nicely decorated, with a large comfortable bed. The room was small, but pleasant and had everything we needed, including a small refrigerator. The down sides were: Rooms are NOT well insulated. We heard the people walking around in the room above ours, and up and down the stairs next to our room, and everyone walking past our rooms, opening their car doors, car keys beeping, etc. (you park right in front of your room.) Also, they charge $17/night to park! It's a dressed-up motel, and they charge you to park in front of your room. That felt like a rip off."
