"This is truly the most unique, amazing, beautiful place I have ever stayed at! It is so gorgeous you have to see it to believe it... everything is so thought out and perfect, from the decor to the fruit and yogurt being served in the most elegant mason jars, the teacups artistically placed on the walls can only be seen as art! The host is so kind and friendly takes care of all the guests needs yet stands back allowing you to feel you have your privacy as well! Simply perfect! Rose & Family"

"We've stayed at Grass Valley Courtyard Suites several times, especially when we're in town for shows at the Center for the Arts. It's become our go-to place to stay whenever we're in Grass Valley. The rooms are always clean, spacious, and comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the peaceful courtyard makes it a relaxing place to unwind. The location is excellent, with easy access to downtown and local restaurants. We always enjoy our stays here and look forward to coming back."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Stay! The National Exchange Hotel completely exceeded my expectations. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning—beautifully restored, elegant, full of character, and one of the most charming places I’ve ever stayed. What truly made this an unforgettable experience, though, was the incredible staff. Every single person we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. A special shoutout to the front desk team for their warm hospitality and professionalism—they made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The restaurant staff also deserves recognition. Whether it was brunch or dinner, the service was exceptional. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about making every meal a great experience. It’s rare to find a place where both the property and the people are equally outstanding. Thank you to everyone at the National Exchange Hotel for making our visit so memorable. I can’t wait to come back and will recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nevada City!"

"Lovely property with creek running through it but it is old and it shows. They mentioned they were beginning renovations. Staff super friendly and everything clean. Hiking trail along the creek to the railway museum added benefit. Grab and Go breakfast was fine, and appreciated the filtered water."

"Julie and Ken are wonderful hosts, they welcomed us into their home with such warmth and kindness we felt right at home! They gave us a great walkthrough of the property and our room. We fell in love! The property and the room were all so clean and comfortable. We enjoyed every breakfast and loved sitting by the koi pond. The hot tub was sooo nice and relaxing after a day at the river. We loved it so much we decided to stay a few extra nights . We will definitely be back soon… thank you so much Julie and Ken "

"Our stay was wonderful. Everything had a personal touch and was welcoming and clean. The area was peaceful and the view is beautifully surrounded by trees. The house slept 8 of us comfortably. 3 bathrooms made getting ready easy and the washer and dryer was a great extra touch. AC worked great and there were throw blankets available. The kitchen was stocked with nice extras like coffee, tea, waters, and cereal/oatmeal. There were a lot of games to play and a full game room downstairs. The house is everything you see in the pictures. Highly recommend!"

"The photos don't do it justice. This cabin was put together very lovingly. It's a single room with a separate bathroom, but there's plenty of space. The owner has thought of pretty much everything. There is a little bit of space to hang clothes. There are little snacks on the table. There's a nice TV. Little chairs and a table on the porch, more seating down in the garden. I enjoyed the little plums from the tree. The bed was comfortable. I was worried that proximity to the highway would mean lots of traffic noise but no- loudest sound you hear is the sound of rushing water in the river. The neighbour has peacocks and ducks. They make a little bit of noise but they are fun and really cool to look at. Everything in Nevada City is less than 5 minutes walk. I was thrilled with my stay."
