"Check in very easy Room was clean, excellent shower, bed quite soft but suited me, lighting not great. Loved the caramel water and tea cake on the tea/coffee tray. Let down was breakfast, hot choices were not very warm, sausages not good quality, potato scones not cooked very well."

"The room was clean, there was tea and coffee making facilities, the shower was a rainforest one, I was in room 30 right at the top of the house so there was only one window ( dormer type ones i think they are called) it had a blackout blind on it which was ok but due to the rain we had whilst I was there i couldn't open the window and there wasnt a fan in the room, my door didn't have a proper lock on it only a chain and because of the HMO feel to the house we would have all had the same key to enter the front door and our rooms so i didnt feel safe. The "reception area" was a downstairs room in the joined house i had to show ID which is normal these days then I got told a £100 holding deposit was needed (which I didnt see anywhere on the Hotel.com page for the property) I paid it unwillingly cause there was no other choice, as I am writing this review at 16:15 on the afternoon after leaving the property i still haven't received the "holding deposit" and because of all the things I have put in my review I will not be recommending this property or staying here again in the future."

"Room was clean and breakfast was good. Rooms are very spacious, and decor is amazing. Staff is super helpful and friendly. But, hotel is very noisy. Make sure you don’t get room 15 unless you are deaf and/or sleep like a rock. It is directly over the party room and reception, and there is also an almost constant thumping in the walls all night (pipes?). Then, in the morning the music at reception will wake you up. (It was so loud that when we went down for breakfast, we had to yell to speak to the receptionist in the morning; my husband was frustrated that he could not hear her at all over the music). But, when we asked about it, a member of the staff generously moved us into the other building, which was relatively quiet. But, our new room reeked of very strong body odor and had no windows that open. We turned on the bathroom fan and left for the day, and that helped, but the bed (pillows) still stunk strongly. I would suggest laundering the pillows, comforter, etc. or throwing them out and replacing them. For room 15, I strongly suggest putting ONLY people attending events in that room, no matter when a reservation takes place. In other words, anticipate that you will have events and hold that room (and nearby rooms) for event guests only. Put early, non-event-related bookings in the other building straight away."
