10/10 Excellent
"I recently stayed here mid October on a solo trip. Location is excellent, close to the train station, stores, restaurants, public transportation. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and helpful! He was able to answer all my questions and even provided some extra coffee when I had to work remotely in the evening. I loved my room! It was on the ground floor but the entry is from a small outdoor courtyard. I was able to open up the floor to ceiling window for extra natural light during the day. The room was perfectly sized and the bathroom was spacious. The soap/shampoo/lotion provided was by Paniers des Sens en Provence Orange Blossom and scented the room nicely. The room had very good lighting especially as I had to work off hours with my laptop. Nespresso coffee machine and 2 bottles of water were provided in the room. The only downside was that they don't have self-serve laundry. I didn't opt for breakfast here but it was reasonably priced. Will definitely stay here again."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Nennig?
The best area to stay in Nennig is right within the village itself, particularly near the Römerstraße (Roman Road) and the Moselle River.

Nennig is a small, picturesque village known for its Roman Villa, a significant historical site featuring well-preserved mosaics. The village is compact and easy to navigate on foot, with its main activities centred around the historical attractions and the riverfront. You'll find a few local restaurants and guesthouses dotted along the main roads.

Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will find Nennig ideal. The village offers a peaceful setting with opportunities for riverside walks and exploring the Roman Villa.
When is the best time to go to Nennig?
The best time to visit Nennig is during the spring or autumn months, particularly from May to early June or from September to October.

These periods offer pleasant weather conditions, making it ideal for exploring the Roman Villa Nennig and enjoying the scenic Saarland countryside. You'll find comfortable temperatures for walking and cycling without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter.

Couples often appreciate the quieter atmosphere during these shoulder seasons, allowing for more intimate experiences at local vineyards and along the Saar River. The natural beauty of the area is particularly striking in spring with blooming flowers or in autumn with colourful foliage.

While summer (July and August) is also popular, it can be busier with more tourists and higher temperatures.
