Great view overlooking Montreux, but not super convenient to walking the lake promenade. There is a tram or bus stop nearby that easily takes you up and down."

I just took the stairs, but for my elderly parents, they had to wait each time. Staff were nice and helpful. Rooms were good and they had a free stocked refrigerator (5 drinks) that was a pleasant surprise. The view from the room was also quite nice. We tried the breakfast that includes a made to order egg station and overall it was good, but we did not find it worth the cost."

After some discussion and significant increase in room cost we were moved to a larger third floor room with a nice view of Lake Geneva. What is the point of staying at the Grand Hotel du Lac if you can’t see the lake from your room. The hotel had many large tour groups who swarm in and out fast. Our overall experience was very good it is a very elegant hotel with a very professional exceedingly friendly staff. Since it sits on the waterfront with easy access to lake front walking and many restaurants along the way."
