It's the staff that make a good hotel. The staff at Topaz Beach work hard to look after the guests. Our stay was very good and we will go back when we visit again.

Dreadful

Terrible hotel , staff very unprofessional and food was not always fresh , I stay at approximately 30 hotels a year and are usually very fair and honest in my reviews, avoid this hotel total Faulty Towers but without the sense of humour , however it is right smack on the beach in a fabulous location

Old, dilapidated, repainted from the street

The hotel is old, dilapidated, repainted from the street and dingy from the back. The rooms are small and cramped. The bathroom is dirty and requires urgent renovation. The hotel surroundings are full of garbage. The beach is a tragedy!, run over by cars, very very dirty. Neglected swimming pool. I had booked a deluxe room with a view. I didn't get the room in the photos. Neither deluxe nor sea view. Nice service, bad breakfast (unless you like curry - I don't care)

We really liked the property. Good value for money. The only issue was there was a power cut and the hotel doesn't have its own generator. Not sure how often power cuts occur.

Good value and helpful staff.

A very nice and cozy hotel with friendly staff that was helping me with road directions and getting me a taxi. The breakfast buffet consisted of local food and fruits. The location is next to the beach and very close to restaurants and some convenient stores. I was pretty happy with my room. The sea view was great and the AC cooled very nicely. A very good value hotel I would say!

Trivsamt hotell med ett bra läge, precis vid havet och nära till restauranter och affärer. Mycket trevlig personal. Bra frukost med både Continental o lokala alternativ. Trevligt med glassbar i lobbyn. Saker att förbättra: sänglampor bör finnas och fungera. Fler solstolar. Fräschare gardiner och i vissa rum behöver badrummen renoveras.

Perfect location for medium price level

Direct on the beach, excellent location. The hotel itself is a little weard out, hasn't been refurbished since several years. Excellent breakfast, very friendly staff. Ideal for those who have limited budget but willing to stay on a perfect location

Stark in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel! Zimmer war nur oberflächlich sauber, Spiegel dreckig, Bettwäsche vergraut, Ventilator ging nicht. Freundliches Personal, gutes Essen, super Strandlage.

Restful stay

Sitting on the terrace enjoying the view whilst having an excellent breakfast couldn't ask for more. Tranquil and relaxing. Bed was comfy. Staff as usual in Sri Lanka were amazing. Good value for money.
