Great value stay in the centre of Narbonne. This is not an all singing, all dancing hotel but it had absolutely everything we needed for a lovely couple of days exploring this relaxed, lively little city. The room was spacious and very clean, with effective aircon (temp reached 34 degrees c outside), strong wifi, a kettle with tea and coffee, soap, shower gel etc. We had room 4 - some reviewers mentioned light from outside, but it now has electric shutters which kept the room very dark when fully closed. There is a communal sitting room and very well equipped kitchen on the ground floor - with washing machine and tumble dryer, which was very helpful. Loads of helpful information in the room, with good recommendations - and the owner was super helpful if needed. 1 min walk to bars and restaurants, but very quiet at night. Would thoroughly recommend. Only point is that it's difficult to drive and park - but we used the train - station is an easy 20 walk.

Les Chambres des Barques was excellent

My only negative experience was getting into the Chambres des Barques and my room on the first day - but that wasn't the fault of the owner; it was the fault of Hotels.com for not giving me accurate information or a way to communicate with the hotel directly. The owner, Craig, came by and rescued me while I was on the phone (international call rates) trying to sort things out. After that, everything was excellent. The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable. The location was where I wanted to be - in the old town itself. If my travels take me back to Nimes, I will book a room here (#3 was great) - and this time I'll know what to do.

Nice comfortable hotel in Narbonne

The hotel is situated right in the center of the city, 3 minutes walk from city hall square. If you come by car parking might be a little difficult, there were some road works done in the neighborhood and I had to park a few minutes away, the hotel is situated in a pedestrian area so you can't drive up to the front door. I had room number 4 and it was perfectly clean, furnished in a vintage kind of cool way. The only thing that I found could be improved is that there's a lamppost right outside one of the windows and the roll down blinds don't do much to occult the light which is too bad. Overall a nice hotel to spend a night in Narbonne and visit. The cathedral is truly magnificent.

Accueil excellent, localisation idéale et chambre très spacieuse avec sanitaires neufs. Le mieux est qu’on peut utiliser la cuisine, le salon et la buanderie du RDC comme on veut. On se sent presque chez soi! Je recommande sans hésitation cet établissement.
