Our stay in Palazzo Salgar was nice, good for the price we paid, it was $168 CAD for the night. We were greeted with very friendly reception, and given a map and info about what to do in the area. Our room was clean, and was provided multiple soaps, vanity sets and shower caps. The property is well maintained, however the area surrounding the hotel is very run down with a lot of abandoned buildings and shops. The only thing I would say was subpar was our food at the hotel restaurant, I ordered a ham sandwhich and my partner a seafood rissoto. His meal was ok for 8€ but my 5€ ham sandwich was so bad I couldn’t finish it…I’ve had better sandwiches from a vending machine. Overall, good hotel for a quick stay in Naples.

Naples work trip
Nice welcome at reception desk, my room wasnt so good but they changed it immediately. Breakfast below usual standards for a 4*. Hotel Location not great - Its by the Port area which was pretty run down, there is a sea view on some rooms over the port. About a 15 minute walk to the old town area of Naples.

From the outside the property is impressive, but does sit in a very run down area with no good views in any direction. The docks are directly infront of the hotel but again these are the commercial goods docks not passenger terminals. Inside the hotel is fine but a little tired in places. The room was a little disappointing given it was a junior suite although not much bigger than a reasonably sized room in any other hotel. Balcony patio was sizable and would clearly be more useful in summer although noting my comment above, still no view to speak of. The bathroom was the biggest let down. Only a bath with a hair washing shower head so if like me you prefer a full shower then it's very inconvenient. There is absolutely no storage/shelving in the bathroom so each day you have to take your stuff in then pack away afterwards. There was also a persistent drain smell. It was however very clean. The staff were all very good and pleasant and the breakfast was great too. Overall it was a good stay.

Hotel is very clean, safe, modern and conveniently located. Less than five minute walk to port, Domo metro station and well stocked reasonable market. Taxi from airport was only 20 euros if you negotiate well Breakfast was very good with assorted fruits, beverages, eggs, meats and at least TWELVE fabulous types of assorted pastries Room was spacious and house keeping was friendly, helpful and excellent Definitely would stay here again and would highly recommend

View of the port not attractive and main road in front very noisy. Trash everywhere except in front of hotel. Hotel is very nice, clean and staff friendly and accommodating. Free breakfast was very good.

Pretty good overall but seems more like a 3 stars hotel than 4 stars, there’s not even tea or coffee in the room. Breakfast was nice, location is convenient close to the airport bus, train and metro.

This hotel is a gem in the area around the port. It is absolutely beautiful - very clean and the staff is wonderful! The breakfast was amazing! Very comfortable rooms! It is about a 15 minute walk to the ferry to Capri. Very quiet and empty after 8:00 PM, when the majority of shops close down. A little worrisome; but, we had no issues walking at night. We’ll definitely stay again. Loved the staff!

My stay at Palazzo Salgar was fantastic! It is in a convenient location to take the bus, train and even near to the ports for ferries and tours to Amalfi Coast and Capri. You can also walk to the city Center and many a wonderful restaurants in 5-10mins. The property was clean and felt very safe. People warned me as a traveller that Naples was not safe. I did not experience this at all. I always felt safe in and around the hotel and had a great experience. One of my favourite parts of this stay was the breakfast included every morning, just fantastic! I would recommend to anyone to enjoy a stay at Palazzo Salgar.

The hotel itself is fine. The bed and linens were very uncomfortable. The bed was hard as concrete and the bed linens were comparable to burlap. I will say the water pressure was fantastic. The surrounding area is absolutely filthy. Trash, roaches, and homeless outside. The door to the hotel stays locked so you have to ring the bell. I did not feel safe and left a day early.

An Oasis of calm in Naples
Absolutely loved our stay in Naples and Palazzo Salgar is an oasis of calm in a really conveniently placed location, close to the old town and port and within easy walking distance of Piazza Plebiscito. We had a junior suite, great space, nice bathroom and huge rooftop balcony. Great and tasty selection at the breakfast bar, friendly staff and would highly recommend. We will be back

This is a very nice hotel situated a little outside the main part of Naples , Spanish quarter etc. but walking is very manageable , your within 30 minutes just about anywhere by walking. My wife and I like to walk , best way to see any city if you can. Air conditioning needs improvement . Most hotels in Italy , you need to out a key in a slot for power and they like to give you one on check , get two immediately so you can leave air conditioning on.

Great value boutique hotel!
This hotel was a treasure! The staff was excellent and so helpful in getting us reservations, taxis and anything we needed. The location is excellent and the property is beautiful. Our room was clean and well appointed and the cafe and bar on property was excellent and so reasonably priced. The breakfast that was included was fabulous. We would definitely return here.

The beds were so uncomfortable and the rooms are tiny. It’s hard to have any luggage at all in the room. I area seemed really unsafe. It’s not somewhere I’d feel safe walking at night. We were suppose to stay 3 days and they did let us cancel our last two days. There wasn’t any way I was going to be able to spend 3 nights in that bed after having back surgery. Not their fault so I do appreciate them allowing us to cancel with no penalty.

Staff are all very helpful; we arrived at noon and they were happy to allow early check-in. Breakfast choice was excellent. Very convenient location - Hotel was within easy walking distance from central train station and also the Allibus airport shuttle bus stop at the port was only a short distance across the road . A few mins walk takes you to the Duomo metro station. There’s a handy small supermarket store just around the corner too.

Loved the hotel.
The hotel was beautiful, very clean, great staff, & a fantastic breakfast. Our room was very roomy. The location was a short walk to the metro & pretty convenient to many of the historic sites. The only problem we had was that our bathroom had a jacuzzi tub & being older, it was extremely difficult to get into it to shower. We should have changed rooms but we didn't.
