We needed to stay near Wilson airport for one night and instead of staying at a chain hotel we stayed here. What a great decision! The staff are amazing! The food was delicious and the bar was lovely. There is such history at this place it is a wonderful little piece of an era gone by. The bathrooms are new and the beds comfortable with great sheets! Given the opportunity we would stay here again.

Hidden gem

Stayed here following a safari due to its location at Wilson’s airport. Was able to pay on location for a day rate that allowed me to check out at 6pm rather than 10am as I had an evening departure flight. Lovely experience! Rooms are basic but are clean and have everything you need. The restaurant and bars serve delicious well priced food with friendly service. Fun to watch the small bush planes take off and land. Will definitely return.

What an exceptional find! The property is inside the compound that is a community all onto its own. Pilot training centers, hangars housing hidden services abound. Located next to Wilson Airport, it is incredibly convenient if you are in transit and believe it or not, it was surprisingly peaceful. The takeoff and landing of planes were not a bother at all; it just added to the excitement of being there and the atmosphere. The property itself is small and very quaint, giving you a great sense of place. The grounds are thoughtfully kept with a lawn to be envious of, and a pool that is just the right size to enjoy a cocktail at sunset. The rooms in the main building are cozy complete with a library, cafe, bar and restaurant all embracing the history of flight. Our room was pristine with a modern bathroom and a very comfortable bed. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant where we found an impressive menu and wine list! Service all around was again exceptional (I’m writing this as someone who used to work at one of the world’s top luxury brand of hoteliers and resorts). Guests are warmly welcomed into the members only club. We felt quite special to be a part of this community - if only for one night. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you ACEA! We absolutely loved our stay.

Nice but room for improvement

Decent enough hotel which is within the grounds of Wilson airport, as it is within the grounds of airport, if you are driving or getting taxi this could delay you due to barriers getting busy at times. We waited 15 minutes to get out of grounds one day. We stayed in one of the "Captains" rooms. Upon checking into the room, the toilet was not flushing, the safe was broken and was not fixed during our stay. We were provided with an iron and ironing board, both of which were broken. The captain's rooms are very close to the kitchen so very loud very early in mornings. We received some very good service from restaurant and bar staff. However we sent one dish back to kitchen twice as was not cooked, this resulted in meal being refunded to us.
