Very Old building and bathroom. In dire need of updating—particularly the bathroom. Bed is as hard as a rock and pillows are as well. No extra towel. Would NOT recommend. On the positive side, tiny room was clean but VERY old. Pleasant staff

I highly recommend this hotel. It's just a few minutes walk from the station on a quiet street. The staff are very friendly. We did the onsen and the nightly ramen which were bonuses(there's even a treat after the onsen). The rooom was clean and the breakfast buffet was pretty good. I can't find fault with this hotel.

across the train station and near the castle
I've stayed in various Dormy Inn locations and i'm comfortable with their standard and prices. They have the best locations like near train stations. This specific location is also near the train station. However, the streets were kind'a designed to be confusing as the blocks are diagonals. At first , you might turn at a wrong street. In any case, the hotel is just walking distance even until the Nagano castle. i'd highly recommend it and will stay again. There's also an onsen in the hotel itself.there were some freebies, like yakult and ice popsicles, every night which i unfortunately discovered the day after. There were 2 massage chairs on the same floor of the onsen. This then made it my favorite Dormy Inn branch. There were also many mangas which you can read at this recreation floor. Breakfast was good and filling as they serve local Nagano dishes. You don't need to try hard to find local restaurants to eat these. I had a list of local dishes and fortunately , i was able to tick them off. (except, of course, sake) . There's also unlimited coffee , tea , ice at the lobby. There was just 1 staff who was annoying , though she probably thought that she was concerned. i was using the toilet at the lobby and she kept banging on the door. After the third time , only then she asked if I was ok. she could've asked the first time when i replied on her knock !

Amazing cost performance!
Evenings was great. Definitely recommend to my friends. Best location with great spa. Latest massager is free to use. Washer is free to use. Dryer is 100 yen per 20 min, but its a gas dryer, not electric, like most of the other business hotels, so cloths dry quickly. Free drinks or ice bars availabe after using the hot spring.

Terrific place to stay close to the station.
So close to the train station, in the heart of eating areas, and the staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. The onsen was so relaxing with both an inside and outside one and with an ice cream treat waiting after. Never did try the free nightly soba because we were so relaxed. The morning breakfast is worth including, with both japanese and western foods. The room is very efficient and comfortable.

Terrific stay!
Everything is great! From the time of arrival to the time of departure, all the staff show real professionalism including those at the front desk and in the kitchen. The location is very convenient as it's only a 3 min walk to the train station with plenty to shop and eat. If I absolutely have to pick on one thing to change, it's the 'white' room light. I personally prefer to be in 'yellow' light because it's softer on the eyes after a busy day.

MUST RESERVE PARKING IN ADVANCE! Very nice new hotel nearby to train station. Easy walk right outside to get dinner or drinks. Convenience store right next to hotel open 24/7. Free ramen in the evening, nice hot springs on 11th floor (free ice cream and yogurt drink). You MUST reserve parking with the hotel prior to visit or you will have to park off site and walk about 10 minutes to the hotel. Breakfast was nice, both western and Japanese dishes available. Free coffee and tea 24-hours in the lobby. Room we stayed in was double twin bed, ok for 2 people, we were 3 with a child. Made it work, but if it were 4 people we would have had issues sleeping. Rooms are clean, nice amenities, but could hear the people in the next room talking and the kids above us running around. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again, but if our entire family stayed (4 people) I would reserve 2 rooms.

I picked this hotel for two reasons - the onsen and the good reviews. Loved the onsen Nice hotel Good service Very good location (about 2 minutes from the train station) Good value for money I would recommend this hotel, and based on this experience would choose other hotels in the Dormy Inn chain.

Comfortable and safe for solo female travelers
Hotel room size is pretty standard for the usual Japanese hotels. I picked this because of the rooftop baths and since it’s autumn the thought of a good soak after a day of sightseeing was very inviting. Location is very conveniently located within a few minutes walk from the station as I had an early morning start the next day but without the noise and busy-ness you’d expect from being near a train station. The complimentary ramen for supper is a big plus as well as the hot cocoa for non coffee drinkers at the complimentary all-day coffee machine.

The onsite hot spring spa baths are amazing. This hotel is clean, convenient and very affordable. It's not a luxury property but the spa rivals anything I've seen in even the finest hotels -- and it's FREE for guests. This is my new Nagano go-to hotel! Plus the hotel is only 1 block from the JR/Nagano station. Great shopping and restaurants all around the hotel and a Starbucks across the street. Even though the hotel is near the station, it's on a small, quiet side street so it is also quiet. It's really the perfect place to stay for a getaway. I'll be back!

Perfect for a budget stay in Nagano
Very comfortable stay for one night. Room is compact but has all the amenities you need. Bed was very comfortable. Location was ideal - next to the train station and with tons of restaurants and shops around. I would definitely stay here again - it’s an excellent budget choice for a stay in Nagano.
