A beautiful traditional home with a modern twist. Clean, comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Thoughtful touches , plenty of USB charger points to keep a 16 yr old happy - a remarkable find. The host is wonderful and helpful. Would have loved to stay longer

We received a warm and helpful welcome from Bungo (whose english is great) and his Mum. They do a great job between them of keeping the Ryokan going. Our room was large by Japanese Ryokan standards with a private shower and small tiled Japanese style soaking bath. The Japanese style table and chairs were able to be left in place in addition to our 2 Japanese style beds. We also had an enclosed balcony with a low table and 2 armchairs that overlooked a tidy private Japanese courtyard...

I absolutely loved my stay here. The property supplied everything one could imagine. Even the most random things like shoe warmers. It was in a great location and we had a little bar right next to us so we could stop for a drink. Easy walk to the historic town or to the Samurai village. I would highly recommend it.

Traditional stay in beautiful room & hotel. As non Japanese speakers the staff tried really hard with Google translate to communicate with us which was appreciated. Food was delicious & different each day. The garden view from the rooms & dining area were lovely. The only minor complaint was the hard Japanese style pillow which seemed to be full of rice or some kind of grain??? We tried to embrace it as part of the experience! Great location, can walk everywhere and/or there is a bus stop...
