"Lovely!! So enjoyed this escape from everything! Private on s’en was delightful. Big space, beautiful views.
Complimentary items included face mask, hair brush (great for thick hair!), toothbrush, shower cap etc. Big range. Another place with nice smelling bath soaps.
Had two futons on the floor which were firm but comfortable. House slippers were provided and yukata for visiting the public baths.
Huge resort! So big. Getting to the public onsen was confusing but worth the walk. Big indoor bath, bathing mirrors and an outdoor spa and bath. Tattooed people can not use the public onsen. Can, If it can be covered with a patch from the kiosk. But only small ones. But the private bath was blissfully perfect. Nice view across the lake. Spent nearly 2 hours in it.
Breakfast was included. It was a very traditional breakfast, piece of fish you cook over a little grill and candle. Lots of different foods I have never seen or eaten before. Some were a challenge for my pallet. Definitely no pancakes or western breakfast here.
Shuttle service from the train station was very helpful. It is on the side of a hill so walking down into the township was fun, getting back up with a full belly of ramen, not as fun haha. But did have delicious ramen in a little dinner directly down from the hotel, opposite a family mart.
Highly recommend staying here.
5 blissful stars"
"Absolutely amazing experience. Only feedback is to slow down the kaiseki dishes as it felt a bit rushed at times. But other than that, a perfect getaway. Highly highly recommend, especially for first time ryokan goers. The most important part of a ryokan is its food - and this was impeccable. Thank you!"
