The Museo Automovilístico de Málaga is a dazzling destination that mingles cars, fashion and art. Get swept up in the glitz and glamour of the museum’s luxury car collections and check out the collection of haute couture apparel. Peruse the art collection and learn about the transformations in style and engineering throughout the history of the automobile.
Enter the museum and admire its elegant setting in the historic La Tabacalera building. This 1920s tobacco factory is one of Málaga’s most architecturally impressive buildings and is the perfect host for the museum’s collection of vintage and restored cars. The museum has 10 sections dedicated to different themes. In the first area, you’ll see the museum’s oldest automobile, which looks a little like a horse-drawn carriage. Check out the Belle Epoque display and admire the vivid designs at the Art Deco 30s section. One of the highlights is a 1920 Unic painted in the style of French-Ukrainian artist Sonia Delaunay.
Continue on to the English Tradition section and the Dolce Vita 50s section, where you’ll find exquisite examples of Bugatti, Mercedes and Ferrari. Bentley, Jaguar and Auburn are also beautifully represented. Don’t miss the deluxe “jetset car,” a black Rolls Royce bejeweled with Swarovski crystals.
The museum has seven exhibitions dedicated to high-end fashion and apparel. Study chic designer hats and headpieces from the 1920s to the 1950s and peruse the collection of over 200 haute couture pieces. Contemporary artworks complement the intriguing collections of designer items.

The Museo Automovilístico de Málaga is located near the waterfront between the city’s historic centre and its airport. It is easy to reach via public bus. Free parking is available on-site. Museum admission is discounted for students, seniors and children. Guided tours may not be offered in English during your visit. The museum is closed on Mondays, Christmas Day and New Year’s.
