"Room and lobby was clean, rustic northwoods decor was a bit dated but charming. Staff was very nice and helpful. Pool, hot tub, restaurant look permanently closed. Hopefully there are plans to reopen at some point in the future, especially as local options for dining are limited. Good value for what we paid for lake view balcony room, only a few other guests at the time we stayed. "

"David was great with communicating. Very quick to respond. We rented both Loon and Grand. Beautiful place to stay. It had everything we could want - great parking, kitchen was well stocked, as was the bedroom, bathroom and the entire lodge. Great location too. Snowmobile trails were very close. "

"The place had everything you need inside the home for cooking, have all sorts of games if yhe weather is unfavorable. Outside has great deck space plenty of outdoor seating and the vies are awsome. "

"advice - it stated in the description that is sleeps 6 - there was only 4 chairs at the dining table - so thankfully there were chairs in the bunk house we brought to the main cabin - ALSO only 4 chairs on the deck so we asked Emily for some lawn chairs to accommodate the six of us . this is minor but also a couple of chairs on the deck of the bunk house would have been great to enjoy the beautiful view. we were lacking in spoons also . Just wanted the host to know this for the next customers "

"Lovely Trip #4 at Gary’s Lake HomeWe’ve had another wonderful stay at Gary’s beautiful lake home. The property offers stunning views, cozy charm, and unique architectural character—especially the vaulted ceilings and warm natural light that make the space feel so inviting.That said, this year we did notice some changes in cleanliness compared to past visits. We found a few items left behind in the master bedroom and bathroom (clothing, hair ties, even trash from a previous guest), and we also had some issues with mice getting into food and leaving droppings in drawers. In past years, traps were provided, but we didn’t find any this time. I’d recommend storing dry goods in sealed containers if you stay here.The furniture and mattresses are beginning to show their age, but the home overall remains comfortable, cozy, and truly special. Despite the challenges this visit, we still love returning here and hope to see a bit more attention to maintenance and cleanliness for future guests."
