The best time to go to Mountain Pine Ridge is during the dry season, which typically runs from late November to May.During these months, you'll experience consistently sunny days and lower humidity, making outdoor activities like hiking to waterfalls or exploring ancient Mayan ruins much more comfortable. The trails are generally dry and easy to navigate, and river levels are usually ideal for swimming and cave tubing. For those looking to avoid the peak tourist crowds and still enjoy good weather, the shoulder months of November and May are particularly good. You'll find pleasant temperatures and fewer visitors, allowing for a more serene experience at popular spots like Big Rock Falls or the Rio Frio Cave. While the wet season (June to October) brings lush greenery and fewer tourists, it also means higher humidity, more frequent rain showers, and potentially challenging road conditions, especially on unpaved tracks leading to some attractions.
