Our group of 5 celebrated a birthday and the 4th of July on Wakondah Pond. We enjoyed our stay very much. Pertinent info...
- 4 comfortable king size beds, 3 medium mattresses and 1 firm
- Pretty pond teeming with fish, frogs, fire flies and dragonflies, no gas motorboats allowed- so it is very quiet
- Mosquitos near the lake at night, so be prepared.
- Floating dock for jumping into the beautiful pond.
- Pond is surrounded by mountains and very picturesque
- Kitchen had all the kitchenware/appliances needed to prepare and serve meals to a large group
- AC upstairs/ basement suite was naturally cool. Fans provided for 3 bedroom also.
- Peaceful, screened-in porch
- 3 bathrooms with showers (hot water for all)
- Every area was clean. I am picky about clean, and I was very happy!
- Responsive host and care-taker. Every question was answered promptly, I had no problems, but I am confident any problems would have been addressed quickly. In fact, I left a pair of eye glasses behind and Laura offered to mail them back to me the next day- no charge!
- Short trip to grocery store (but go early, a lot of traffic later in the day)
- 3 kayaks and a paddle boat, plus life jackets for a variety of sizes.
- There is a steep-ish path from the house down to the lake, so be mindful of that if a member of your party has mobility issues. There is a bedroom and bathroom on the first floor (I am not sure if shower is accessible) and the screened-in porch is accessible on the first floor.
