Adorable Winnipesaukee Lakehouse and Guest House for 12

Absolutely adorable waterfront cottage offering 3 bedrooms plus a detached guest house! Relax in the 3-season room and sip your morning coffee while looking out to the lake and beautiful mountains beyond. The sand beach is just waiting for you to sit back and read a book or jump in and make some waves on a hot summer day - or how about a sand castle competition? The dock will accommodate two boats up to 22 feet in length and offers a sitting area complete with Adirondack chairs at the land end - what a great place to relax and reconnect with each other. Like vacationing with others yet want some privacy? Just call dibs on the guest house with living room, bedroom and 3/4 bath. Prepare your meals on the gas grill but save room for s'mores around the fire-pit in the evening. There are A/C-heat units in all bedrooms as well as the living room. The fireplace is off limits and can not be used. Wi-Fi and YouTube TV. Water source is well water with a purification system and drinking water at the kitchen faucet. New for 2026: The main house bathroom will have a new bath-tub and surround.
LINENS: Please note: Sheets and towels are not included with this rental. If you would like to rent sheets and/or bath towel packages from At The Lake Vacation Rentals, the cost of sheets (including arrival bed making) for this home is $250. Towel packages are $12 per person and include 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel and 1 washcloth. Please let us know at time of booking if you would like to rent sheets and bath towels as availability is limited.

great family vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time. The outside of the house is deceiving as it needs some TLC but the inside is very clean & comfortable. We had great weather so spent every day on the dock, moving to the fire pit to get the last of the sun. We lived in the screened porch although the living room had equally comfortable furniture & gorgeous views. We kayaked as the owners provided, which was a bonus. My son loved the hammock to read & relax. The only thing I'd suggest is to replace the double bed in the guest house as it sinks in the middle so was uncomfortable.

A couple of the floor planks need to be secured to prevent a trip hazard. Overall this property is the perfect place for a family vacation.

Another great family vacation at the Knotty Chipmunk!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Best summer vacation weather we've ever had ... although it was very hot the first part of the week, the humidity was low and the lake was sufficently warm to stay in the water for hours. It's a great cottage for small children because of the nice little beach, and the offshore rocks keep powerboats away from everyone. With the firepit area, the dock enlargement for multiple chairs, the lawn for games, and proximity of the house, all is close at hand for keeping an eye on things and staying engaged. We've put our name in for next year.

A Week at the Lake

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second year to spend a week at this lakehouse. Such a perfect location! We use the table in the sunroom for a puzzle, eat outside on the deck as much as possible, s'mores around the campfire -just heaven for our 2 grandsons (4&6). They love thesandy beach and catching fish off the dock. A ride on the Mount Washington was a big hit as was theirfirst round of miniature golf. The week always ends way too soon!

Reviewer Comments: Beautiful, quaint home with AMAZING views! My family of 9 felt comfortable the minute we walked in. The newly renovated kitchen/dining room was perfect to make dinners together in and enjoy dinner on the porch looking out the windows at the magnificent views. Mountains, sunrises/sunsets, loons, boats what more can you ask for. Our family enjoyed campfires and movies on the deck with our grandchildren. Beautiful walks in the neighborhood and coffee on the dock sitting in Adirondack chairs, nothing better!A couple items needed to be fixed and called the realty company. They were so accommodating and sent someone over immediately. Excellent service. Great family memories made at Chipmunk Lane!❤️ Hopinh yo make it an annual vacation.

Charming cottage nestled in a picturesque setting

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Although this vacation rental appears (and actually is) relatively small, it nicely accommodated our extended family of 11 - 6 adults and 5 children. The owners had made practical and tasteful interior renovations, including new kitchen appliances and heat pump A/C - and outside, evidently dock improvements with a comfortable sitting area. The large umbrella over the deck and table made for enjoyable and protected meals. We really liked the sandy beach which was wonderful for us all, especially the younger ones. After multiple canoe outings exploring the lakeshore, we concluded that this property has one of the prettiest waterfronts in the area - it's also somewhat sheltered, being a little set back on a narrower part of this large lake. An outdoor shower would have alleviated some of the competition for the single bathroom in the main house. All in all, we had a delightful week in a lovely cottage and have listed for next year.

The lake view with the mountains is an every-day delight!Our two grandsons (3 and 5) loved the bunk room, the sandy beach, the dock, s’mores at the fire pit. We enjoyed excursions to Wolfboro, a cruise on the Mt. Washington, and a day at the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center.

Excellent getaway for a 3-generations family

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 3rd year renting this property. We like the amenities, especially the heat pump cooling for what seem like increasingly hot summers. The sandy beach is a real plus for families with young children or grandchildren - and the swim area is sporadically populated with immense granite boulders, so powerboats keep far away. We missed the lovely birch trees that so nicely shaded the deck and part of the beach during the heat of the day - they were removed since our previous stay. The view across the bay of the Ossipee Mountains is beautiful - especially in the evening and as the sun rises over them. Great vacation cottage!

Wonderful Week

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Once we stepped inside the cottage we were really impressed with how updated and clean it was. When we stepped outside onto the deck and saw the breathtaking views of the lake with the mountains behind it we were overwhelmed. We had issues only with the shower and kitchen sink but they sent someone out to fix them. Other than that It was so pleasant!

Great Lake House!

Lake is just steps away from the deck , nice sandy beach, dock, great swimming. We did not rent a boat due to the large underwater rocks, but there is a dock there for the experienced boater prob not a problem. There is a fair amount of lake traffic, not terrible but busy on weekends. All and all our large family had a great vacation here! Highly recommend!

Family Lake week

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a very nice week. Some maintenance required: screen and toilet seat had to be replaced while we were there, oven door handle fell off while we were there. We rented a place for 12 people and were later told there was only room for two cars. Impossible to do. And there was plenty of room for at least six cars. Place is nice and generously appointed, however very tight for 12 people. Especially with only 1.5 bath rooms. And the bathroom in the main house is very tiny. This should be a rental for 8 people. That room with the bunk beds, way too small for four beds, no room to move. Should be two beds with some space to breathe. Maybe allowing space to enlarge the bathroom? One of the beds in the "guest" house needs replacing; very saggy. The outside is great; fire pit and dock well situated. Would recommend for fewer people.
