"This was our second stay at the Royal hotel, our first was just an overnight stay, and we liked Nimes so much we wanted longer and couldn't imagine a better hotel. This time it totally lived up to expectations. It is amazingly convenient for the centre of historic Nimes, opposite the Maison Carre! "This hotel is in an industrial zone with no charm; but that is not the problem. The clientele is trashy--purple hair, tattoos, etc.--and the halls smell. The staff is indifferent. In short, this is a hotel for lower middle class and below. The saving grace is that the room was quite clean."

The room was very quiet except for other guests in the corridor or closing their room doors.
