"Quite a new Ibis, smart design, nice rooms and friendly, helpful staff. Underground car parking is €12, but plenty of free street parking around the hotel. There are a couple of cafes and restaurants within 100m, the town centre is an easy 15 minute walk. The citadel is probably a 30 minute walk, but easier to drive ( plenty of free parking there) as not surprisingly it’s uphill."

"Stayed one night with friends touring Portugal. Stayed here about 15 years ago and it hasn’t changed a bit. Location is great, short walk to down centre. Plenty of parking and set in large open space. Staff are very friendly and efficient, with a quick and easy check in. I wouldn’t want to stay a week but for a night or two it’s completely acceptable. "

"A simple and basic stopover but worked Ok for us. We were able to park motorbike around the side of the hotel and it felt safe. We walked into town and found a nice friendly restaurant with lovely local food, excellent value. It was a served breakfast, simple but very nice, in particular wonderful warm bread."
