Local amenities were not required — we were there to be in touch with family in Amble.

Due to all Covid restrictions and self preservation, we ate all our meals in the lodge and found Kitchen equipment perfect. Chiller in fridge kept small quantities of food frozen till required; supermarket delivered straight to door.

Friendly reception, good Covid precautions, good advice about local attractions.
Friendly reception, good Covid precautions, good advice about local attractions. All facilities as promised in the booking. Views over field to Warkworth Castle in distance. Best of all on most days (sometimes both morning and evening) we saw a barn owl (sometimes 2 barn owls) hunting in the field. Once we got a close-up view of the owl flying to a nearby post to consume it's prey. Super. Once we saw a fox trot through the field. Very convenient location for lots of local attractions (eg Alnwick, Druridge Bay, Hauxley nature reserve, Cragside).

Both the lodge and Leslie were brilliant.
Both the lodge and Leslie were brilliant. It was small but had everything we needed (2 adults and 1 dog). Leslie was helpful and friendly, she had thought of everything (including a torch, which helps when you are a dog owner) to make our stay welcoming and comfortable. The bed was comfy and warm, the underfloor heating in the en-suite was great. Bedding and towels provided. The enclosed garden was ideal for the dog. It was like home from home. The position was perfect for exploring the Northumberland area. We would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone. We hope to revisit in the future. Ruth, Chris and Dexi (27-09 to 04-10-19).

Whilst 2 miles from Amble that should not detract about the holiday.
Whilst 2 miles from Amble that should not detract about the holiday. The lodge was really good and the owner was really helpful. The owner's dogs were regular visitors. Ideal location to use the coastal route. Ideal place for any visitor to Northumberland.
