When we arrived, we were welcomed with flower leis and cold, refreshing tropical juice. The location and beach were perfect! It had a nice, long stretch of beach. The water was calm and warm. Water activities were offered such as snorkel gear, paddle boats, stand up paddle boards, kayaking, diving, and more. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. There is a Polynesian show on Wednesdays and Sundays. Breakfast buffet was good. The man who made the omelettes, crepes, and waffles was so friendly and had such a great attitude. Always a pleasure seeing him every morning. Rooms were nice and clean. Some bungalows did need some work but overall still very nice. In room beverages were free like sodas, water, and beer, and replaced daily. Some items were not free such as cocktails and snacks. The spa was amazing! Overall, great resort and would definitely stay here again. We didn’t have a bungalow over the water which was fine. Of course, when you think of French Polynesia, you think of the bungalows over the water. These tend to be more pricey. If you can afford it, more power to you, but don’t feel like you’re missing anything. If you take a tour of Moorea, one of the stops is the lookout right above the Sofitel. It’s no wonder why because the Sofitel is very picturesque and simply beautiful.
