For Montauk, this hotel would be the only option for us. The property is well designed, it’s very small and you just feel safe. It’s a Close walking distance to town. My one complaint is I wish there was a better food option. The food prices are insane and there’s a very limited menu. The lunch choices for a Sunday were braised chicken, pork or a $40 burger, no great kid friendly options or anything you would want to eat on a hot august day outside. The staff were all super nice and I loved that there were fire pits every night with s’mores. There’s a pool overlooking the ocean which you really can’t find out here and there’s also beach service meaning they’ll set up chairs and an umbrella for you. There’s a great bar by the pool and beach too. My other issue was for the price of the rooms they’re extremely small and dark. There’s also no TVs, dressers or closets so pack light and bring an iPad if you have children!

You need to double check the ocean view is real ocean view. I booked the ocean view room, but, it wasn’t. They said they wrote down the ocean view because of marketing… and then, i checked out i got the email, housekeeping discovered that we took the bottle of shower gel.. and they charged me $85… and it is not ture. Who takes bottle of shower gel hanging on the shower booth.. it was terrible experience i ever had!

Beautiful and chill
Beautiful property with kind employees across the board! Felt like I was someplace much further away than Long Island. I feel like the room is very modern/Scandinavian/minimalist so those with a taste for traditional looks might not love it. We had an ocean view room which also overlooked the hangout spot which was extra lovely at night with the complementary s’mores! Overall great place to relax. I had a fantastic time and would love to return!

I loved the property. The staff was amazing and so friendly. Everyone went out of their way to introduce themselves and made sure our stay was memorable. There was easy access to the beach and the extra amenities, like early morning yoga and meditation were amazing. The room was clean and cleaned everyday. The soap, shampoo and conditioner were top of the line and the linens, bed and pillows were so comfortable. I guess the biggest surprise was there was no TV in the room. When we asked about it they said they were "screen free" but the internet connection was great.

It is true that Marram is a unique property, and that the beachfront barefoot luxury experience we provide is designed to be modern, minimalist, and less formal than traditional resorts - the Marram experience does not easily fit into the classic groupings that larger sites like Expedia use to help travelers select their destination of choice. The hotel which has had some excellent press and from images looks beautiful was somewhat disappointing upon arrival. My BF and I were staying for 1 night in Hamptons and decided that instead of staying at Gurneys we would try the Marram. The price was almost 1000 a night for the most basic room. Upon arrival there is no help with bags, you self park and walk into a tiny motel check in (decorated nicely, nice staff) but still not a lobby. The aircon distro we was huge and blasting in your face making the small room a fridge but fair enough the staff had masks and said the room gets stuffy to breath without it. Then we got sent to our room by the “fire pits” which sounded idyllic - I pictures big creators in the sand by the ocean with roaring fires. It looked like a small campsite of a few low burning wood in the sand. To make it worse the fire wood smoke was pouring into our small and cold feeling room that felt like “NO” money had been spent on making the room comforting just as basic as an ikea knock together could be. We went and complained as I’m pregnant and literally wouldn’t have been able to breath while sleeping and all our clothes already ruined from the smell. They moved us immediately but stated thank god we can the night before the rush or we would of had no choice. I was grateful for the move which was right by the lobby on the ground floor “might I add room doors are on the outside like a motel” then for breakfast we had was an order stand and a picnic bench.

Thank you for your kind words about our staff and the lobby decor. I'm glad to hear that the team was able to provide you with an alternative room that was better suited to your needs. It is true that our Dune Patio King rooms are ground floor rooms that directly face our sandy fire pit patio. I regret that the proximity to the fire pits (+ wind direction the night of your arrival) made your room so uncomfortable. Regarding the room decor - it is true that our decor is modern and minimalist - our intention is to provide an uncluttered and relaxing experience - rather than the type of experience you describe. And, it is also true that our cafe offers counter service - guests order at the counter then bring their meals to enjoy at our many outdoor seating areas. Once again, please accept my apologies for disappointing you, as well as my thanks for sharing your feedback.

It is true that our room decor is both modern and minimalist, and that storage space for a family of 4 with a longer stay is limited. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience. Upon request, we are happy to provide additional luggage racks as needed. We have selected 2 tiered luggage racks to maximize additional storage capacity when using them. Regarding the cement floors, I regret that they did not feel welcoming- as that was not our intention. This particular material was selected for its energy efficiency, minimal environmental impact, and the ease with which it can be cleaned and maintained in our beachfront environment. I appreciate your feedback - and look forward to welcoming you back again soon for another stay at Marram.

We did not use the room … we left . Could not get food / lunch / breakfast or anyybut water …. No cocktails, no tv… Lacked every Day amenities. Water and silence … nothing mentioned ahead of time . Vacation not a religious retreat. I would like at least a partial refund . Just rude . All families there were shocked and complaining. Especially ones with kids

I regret that your experience with us was so disappointing that you felt compelled to leave shortly after arriving. While it is true that our rooms are screen free (no tv's) and that we do not serve alcoholic beverages at the property, our onsite cafe serves truly delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for which they are well known as well as some very special non-alcoholic house made beverages (our freshly baked pastries and our hand pressed limonadas are especially appreciated) - and we offer a robust wi-fi network throughout the property which allows guests to stream content on their personal devices to their hearts' content. Our complimentary in room amenities include Nespresso, Just Water, Pellegrino Essenza, and a lovely set of Le Labo bath amenities. Our complimentary resort programming includes Retrospec cruiser bikes upon request, yoga and meditation classes, creative art workshops, guided nature walks, wellness workshops, nightly fire pits with s'mores, and (of course) our beach and pool chair/umbrella/towel service. In addition, surf lessons and private beach fires are available at an extra cost onsite at the property. I truly regret that you did not feel comfortable staying at the property long enough to explore the many options available to our guests. Kindly note that we received your email requesting a partial refund, replied to you directly, and look forward to your response so that we can assist you further.

I like the location of the property, but the room didn't have a closet. We booked a room that said it accommadated 4 people, but we had no where to put our clothes or stuff. We had to book an extra room, which was pricey. We mentioned that we may want to do a bonefire, and they charged us without confirming it.

Based on your comments, it seems that we need to work with the team at Expedia to improve the way they describe our property. I am truly sorry to hear about the several ways in which we disappointed you. Our Double Queen rooms average approximately 400 sq feet in size. It is true that the rooms do not have a traditional closet. Guest rooms have a credenza with a shelf for storage, a traditional luggage rack, and a modern exposed floor mirror and black metal rack for hanging clothing. Our room decor is modern and minimalist - with a wabisabi unfinished look - white oak ceilings and furniture, polished cement floors, and tadelakt plaster walls throughout the room and bathroom. It is worth mentioning (for the benefit of others who may be considering a stay at Marram) that our rooms are screen free (no TV's). Guests are able to stream content on their personal devices - as our wifi service is excellent throughout the property and in the guest rooms. I apologize for any miscommunication regarding the private beach fire. It seems we misunderstood your interest in the private bonfire being tentative. If you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us.

Overall the rooms are nice and there is no better location but I think there's quite a bit of room for improvement. You can only park one car on-site and when you get there and ask where to park a second car no one can give you a straight answer. Housekeeping almost never came to our room, we called and went in and still no service. Lastly, they didn't have a liquor license which was upsetting. A lot of potential but room for improvement.

It is true that we provide parking for 1 vehicle per guest room, and that we do not have additional onsite parking available. It is also true that we do not have a liquor license. It was surprising to hear that your room was not serviced as requested, and will certainly look into this with the team. Our housekeeping team provides daily service to each room unless the privacy sign is placed on the door. Additionally, extra bed and bath linens can also be requested as a non-contact amenity delivery. Again, please accept my sincere apologies falling short of your expectations - we sincerely hope that you were able to have a relaxing stay with us despite the issues you mentioned - and hope you will return at some point in the future.

The property was beautiful, clean, well maintained but the walls are paper thin and quiet Tim is until 8am but I had a family with 2 children that I was woken up by at 6am screaming until 8:30 when they left the room at 8:30. The screaming carried on for almost 3 hours. There weren’t a lot of people there so they could’ve spaced out the rooms better.

It was an amazing stay however the bar wasn’t open at all and the cafe closed Monday and Tuesdays.
