The WP Relais Argante Apartment is located in the heart of the historic centre of Montalcino in Tuscany, a medieval village perched atop one of the most scenic hills in the Val d'Orcia, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is known worldwide for Brunello di Montalcino and its scenic landscapes.
The apartment is situated on the ground floor of a historic building that has been completely renovated by WP Relais, a restoration project that has brought back the building’s original charm while preserving its architectural details and several frescoes. The property features a terrace and a panoramic garden shared with the other two apartments at WP Relais.
The Argante Apartment has three bedrooms—two with double beds and one with twin beds—all with private bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms also feature a spacious walk-in closet, while one of the bathrooms, in addition to a shower, has a bathtub—perfect for those with small children. The apartment can accommodate up to 6 guests.
The living room is one of the most charming spaces in the house: a spacious living area with comfortable sofas and a large dining table. During the restoration, original frescoes were uncovered, which are now perfectly integrated into the decor. A convenient half-bath completes the living area.
The fully equipped kitchen-dining area retains a charming original fireplace and features an additional dining table, making the space perfect for breakfasts or casual meals.
Thanks to its central location in Val d’Orcia and its interiors—which preserve the charm and character of the area with meticulous attention to every detail—the Argante Apartment offers a functional and comfortable place to stay with WP Relais in the historic centre of Montalcino.
Information on Check-in and Parking:
Please note that our apartment on Via Mazzini is located within Montalcino’s ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone), which means cars are not permitted on the street. However, arrival and parking are very straightforward if you follow these directions:
Luggage Drop-Off
The best way to arrive is to head towards the nearby Piazza Cavour, which is just a few steps from the apartment. You can stop there briefly to unload your luggage and let your guests out.
Parking Options:
The most convenient and closest option (Blue Lines):Just past Piazza Cavour, there is an uphill street (in the Via Roma / Via Osticcio area) where you can find parking spaces marked with blue lines. This is a very safe option and is more economical than the main tourist car parks. Hourly rates are lower, and parking is free overnight. We strongly recommend checking this street first to see if a spot is available!
Main Paid Parking Lots: (Very Safe): Giardini Parking Lot (P1) or Spalti Parking Lot (P2).These are the main official car parks located just outside the historic city walls. They are well-lit and very safe. The cost is approximately €1.50–€2.00 per hour during the day (about €15–€20 per day) and free at night.
Free Parking:If you don’t mind taking a short walk, there are free parking spots marked with white lines located a bit further down the valley, near the sports area. The area is perfectly safe, but it requires a 10- to 15-minute uphill walk to get back to the apartment.
