Unfortunately for me it was raining and cold, and after a horrifying ride up the mountain, I was greeted by the dog that jumped up on me and got my pants very muddy (I love dogs but he was extremely muddy and kept jumping on me).. "It was fun staying at this beautiful house with its wonderful views of the Aeolian islands from the various porches. The proprietors were great hosts. If you want to get in your exercise, you can climb the steep mountain road in back of the house and while you're at it, get a chorus of dogs barking along the way. The restaurant within walking distance around the corner was pretty good."
