"First impressions was the grounds were immaculately kept. Gorgeous kept up gardens, it was always clean, no garbage anywhere. Our room was beautiful clean and comfortable, every single member of the staff was incredibly helpful happy and friendly. We had two massages in their outside cabin which were fabulous and so relaxing. No small detail was missed. Fire places were lit at night, blankets on the chairs on cold nights. The hot tub and sauna were always hot and ready to go. Amazing breakfast. Overall was a perfect experience. Highly recommended a fall trip to Wakefield it’s a special place. We will be back"

"Everything was sparkling clean and the cottage was beautiful and modern. It came fully stocked and had everything you need for a week's stay, plus the dock was gorgeous and it was fun using the water sports equipment. Dan was very responsive to my messages too. I would come back with my family in a heartbeat."

"The hot tub was amazing! Loved being on the lake in kayaks. The people and stores were very kind to Americans who don't speak French! We used Google translate a lot! Marche Richelieu the grocery store was VERY well stocked . As was the pharmacy. My only disappointment was the front window. The seal is broken so it was cloudy. It made looking at the lake on rainy days sad."

"Beautiful view from the house, deck and hot tub! Very close to Bowman forest with some great trails (the Panorama is a lot of uphill; L'Ange is less challenging). Decent grocery store in nearby town. We bought firewood right across the road from the Richelieu. Recommend bringing your own axe for splitting, as there wasn't one there. Try the soft serve ice cream with multiple dip flavours at Dépanneur Du Village Val-Des-Bois!The cottage and grounds need some TLC, but overall a comfortable stay."

"Having four bedrooms was great - it gave everyone their own space. Kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. Nice quiet and private location. Hot tub and fire-pit were great. Owner was very responsive to any concerns. To swim in the lake, you need to kayak out a ways as the area in front of the dock is marshy. We really enjoyed this cabin."

"The cottage was very nice lakeview was great and fishing & swimming awesome. The cottage backs onto the main road through the village which has a lot of thro' traffic specifically large trucks at various hours throughout thenight. The basement bunk bed was missing a safety bar on the upper bed so kids could not sleep on it. The lower bunk bed mattress sinks badly in the centre.When we arrived there were 2 issues that needed to be resolved namely cleaning the hot tub & having the septic serviced given a strong pungent smell in the cottage. Both issues were resolved when we contacted the host."
