My husband and I stayed at La Bulnière for 10 days, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The house was built around 1900 with all the charm that implies, yet the interior has been modernized very attractively to provide guests with all the conveniences. The bathrooms and kitchen are beautiful, as well as the custom millwork pieces installed throughout the house. One of our favorite rooms was the living room with its two comfortable chairs positioned in front of the bay window. The view is spectacular, and we spent a LOT of time looking at it. Mont St. Jean is charming, too, and we explored the château, the church, and the other historical sites. We loved the fact that the village is so quiet and peaceful (the main sounds are cows and roosters!); coming from suburban Chicago, this was a great place to unwind and enjoy a vacation. Furthermore, we used Mont St. Jean as a base to explore Burgundy, and that was easy to do with a different destination/ activity each day. We covered a lot of territory during our 10- day stay. And lastly, the owner, Jean, was exceptionally responsive and nice, and we really enjoyed meeting him! We look forward to returning to Burgundy, and we would definitely stay here again.
