Awful experience! The door lock was visibly broken and wouldn’t lock! It wouldn’t lock! Large flies in the washroom… that’s when we decided to leave. Huge stains on the carpet, finger prints all over the windows and a very sketchy neighborhood. We walked out… and lost 4 nights prepaid hotel. We hope Expedia refunds our money… and speaks to this hotel.

AVOID IT!!

AVOID IT!! The room has a strong bad smell. The room is not maintained at all. It took around 30 minutes to check in with the receptionist. There is no customer service at all. I have found a room with broke door and a lot of dirt inside in-front of the door where my room is. It is written on the door that it is not safe around, and I am responsible for my stuff. The Wi-Fi never reached the third floor.

Nun das ganze Hootel ist enttäuschend. Die Zimmer heruntergekommen. Flecken auf Teppich, Vorhänge teils abgerissen. Bad: Unglaublich Toilette innen dreckig verkalkt - Dusche ebenso. Waschbecken - verstopft Sysphon dicht und stinkig. Da sollte mal ein größerer Trupp durch. Wennman jahrlang alles schleifen lässt kommt derartiges dabei heraus. Schade, denn die eigetliche Einrichtung war mal sehr ordentlich. Betten waren OK - und absolut sauber! Allerdings sollte man Rucherzimmer vielleicht nicht in Etagen haben wo Nichtraucher sind.

Hotel überbucht systematisch Zimmer und man steht mit mehreren Gästen vor der Rezeption. Dann wird Ausweichzimmer in Düsseldorf-Willich angeboten. Kein Hilfe bei der Stornierung, Kreditkartendaten müssen vorher angegeben werden. NUR ÄRGER - FINGER WEG!

There was no attendance at the reception. I have waited for 40 minutes, ringed the bell and called the hotel phone numbers with no response. I had then to find the alternative given that it was becoming late

Positiv: größe des Zimmers, Matraze gut, Mobiliar geht noch. Negativ: Teppichböden auf Flur erhebliche GROßE Flecken. Das ist der erste Eindruck, der war schon Bedauernswert.Obwohl das Zimmer sauber war. Ich glaube sämtliche Zimmertüren hatten Aufbruchspuren. Nicht gerade vertrauensvoll. Wir wohnten hinten heraus. Da war eine Betonwand in 10Mtr. Entfernung ein bisschen Efeu dort wachsen lassen und alles sieht besser aus. Zuggeräusche vorhanden, aber die waren nicht besonders störend. Mit ein wenig Renovierung, Teppichboden, Türen, Efeu wäre der erste Eindruck viel besser. Dann würde es auch bessere Bewertungen geben. Für das unterste Preissegment gebe ich alles in allem eine 4+

Die Unterkunft im Doppelzimmer hat knapp 50€ gekostet, was in Ordnung geht. Check-In war bei mir rasch, jedoch nur in Bar möglich (gab Probleme mit der Elektronik). Die Mitarbeiterin war aber stets freundlich. Der Aufzug wirkt nicht wirklich sicher und die Zimmer sind wirklich abgewohnt. Zudem hat man keine Klimaanlage, was bei 35 Grad nicht grad angenehm ist. Aufzug geht übrigens nur bis in den 4. Stock. Den letzten muss man dann zu Fuß gehen. Betten waren in Ordnung, die Dusche auch. Mir ist jedoch sauer aufgestoßen, dass die Handtücher, sowie Badetücher mit Tierfedern übersät waren. Keine Ahnung wie es dazu kam, aber empfand ich als sehr unseriös, bzw. fast schon ekelhaft. Ansonsten war die eine Nacht aber in Ordnung.

Coronavirus reveals the true spirit

Dear Future customer, The current coronavirus disaster has revealed something rotten in the administration of this hotel. The hotel has decided to take the easy money instead of doing the right thing during a worldwide pandemic. I could not come to Germany from Italy as the country was blocked (and luckily i did not go because germany Closed his borders in the meantime). Besides, i could have potentially contaminated the whole hotel !And I asked for a refund. Despite this, the hotel made the decision to refuse me to refund my money after paying to stay at your hotel. This is not an insignificant amount of money to have evaporate. Hotels.com told me they tried to negociate with you and you refused. I thought Hotels.com customer service was effective and efficient but they were many times unreachable and unreliable (promising answers a day and replying few days later) This inhuman treatment of my request from both the Stargaze hotel and hotels.com reveals a lot. I don’t expect and contact from these 2 entities but I hope my story will give you an idea of their mentalities.

Unschlagbar gut und günstig

War eine Nacht im Hotel. Habe für € 34,20 noch nie in einem Hotel ein so gutes und großes Zimmer erhalten. Ruhige und zentrumsnahe Lage, der Bahnhof nur 5 Gehminuten entfernt und bei Bedarf viele Parkplätze vor dem Hotel. Sauber, ruhig, zentral, günstig und mit freundlichen Mitarbeitern.

Smiley and helpful staff

The lovely staff on the desk speaking in English doing everything to assist you. I arrived later at 9:45 pm, the chek-in was done by the smily nice lady. She ordered for me a pizza. The restaurant + the varied buffet very nice although not a lot of space......Very small. The room was spacious I like the view in despite of the small noise from trains which passed all day.

A good hotel.

Stargate Palazzo is okay. The location is good just a short walk from the Hauptbahnhof. The area is okay too. The rooms are spacious and the single bed is large but smaller than a standard double bed. The carpets could do with a good clean but for the money it’s fine and I will stay again. The staff are friendly enough, the breakfast is plentiful and although there is no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, they do sell some drinks and snacks on reception.
