"The location is very pretty, and it was great to be so close to the water. We did have a little trouble with the plumbing, and we were asked not to bathe our kids in the only bath tub on the premise, which was kind of a bummer. While I understand things can happen, it was a draw back for us since we have young children. That said, Amy was very nice, had great local recommendations for us and Elk Lake was very beautiful!"

"The cabin is listed NEW in its title. It is far from new. Its not a bad cabin if you just want peace and quiet, but know there is not WIFI, TV's or AC. The cabin as a whole was clean but the sofa bed was DISCUSTING!! The lake was very peaceful!!

"The cabin was filthy and needed deep cleaning. In detail: There were cobwebs hanging places that were obviously many years old. The floor had not been cleaned within for 4" of the wall for years. It is an old rustic cabin which was expect. On day two the rental company called us to check in on our stay. I told them this. They said they recently took on the property for renting but had not seen it yet. They offered me a discount on a future rental. I said that was a nothing they should offer some type of discount on this rental. She said she would check on that. They have not contacted me. Ultimately, we left after two of the three nights that we paid for and found a clean hotel to stay in. I am not one to bother leaving negative reviews but others should not repeat our experience."

"My family had a wonderful time at Eric's house in Elk Rapids. The house was very clean, nicely furnished, and well-appointed. I appreciated that there was a fully stocked kitchen (spices, oil, vinegar, etc., plus all the equipment you'd need to cook) and some accessibility measures in place like grab bars in the bathrooms and hallway.
The beds were comfortable and two of the three bedrooms have great lake views to wake up to! We loved having our coffee on the deck in the morning, and got to see some stunning sunsets over the lake at night.
The location was great if you plan to hang at the house a lot, it's also relatively close to downtown Elk Rapids which is cute to walk around. It's about 30 minutes from Traverse City and the peninsula with all the wineries.
Finally, Eric's communication was 10/10. Thanks for making our stay great!"
