"The hospitality of Nori-san, Chie, and their family made our stay so enjoyable. They went out of their way to ensure our comfort and shared wonderful details about their beautiful, nutritious, farm-to-table meals. We even got to tour their farm, learn about rice planting, and spot a precious firefly. The house is bright and clean, overlooking rice paddies, with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. It's also centrally located in Akita, making it easy to visit spots like Lake Tazawa,...

"This is a great place to have an authentic Japanese experience. The traditional rooms with tatami floors were spacious and clean. The bedding was light and warm. The onsen experience was very pleasant. The traditional breakfast was flavorful and so were the welcome snacks. Definitely a valuable experience for those visiting the area."

"It is an unmanned hotel without front desk. May not suit for all travelers. Also no lift for this hotel and not suitable for traveler with long trip carrying big luggage. No response from hotel via Expedia message box."

"Nice stay with good onsen, perfect for families and young children. Buffet breakfast and dinner good but could do with some rotational options, first impressions of the outside of the hotel aren’t great like something out of the shining but inside is fairly modern some aspects still need modernising, overall pretty pleasent"
"The food was one of the best. We stayed two nights. It would have been better, if we could choose to stay without meal, because we found 2 meals a day was too much."
"Very close to train station -30 second walk. But also very quiet no train noise. This is a modern hotel that was a joy to stay in. I would definitely recommend and would stay again if ever in Kakunodate again.
Check in is unmanned so you need your booking number and use the check in machine."
"We loved the small village feel of Yokote. The Hotel Plaza Annex provided modern amenities, but had an old world charm. The onsen baths on the first and second floor were beautiful and relaxing. We also had an open air wooden hot springs bath in our room, which was very luxurious. Our room was a suite with two beds in one room and a sitting area in the other room. It was very spacious. We ordered dinner and breakfast service for two days. All four kaiseiki meals were delicious and beautiful. Our servers were so kind and caring. We definitely will return for the hospitality of this hotel and beauty and tranquility of Yokote."
"Hotel Route Inn Omagari was spotless, good breakfast and very nice hot baths. We have always had a good experience with these hotels. Small rooms but very adequate. "
