Victorian Modern, on the Mississippi River

Beautiful, remodeled Victorian / Modern home with open floor plan.
The Mississippi River is your backyard right in Minneapolis. 3 queen bedrooms and a 4th pullout bed in the common room. 10 minute drive to downtown Minneapolis.
We've been a super host on other platforms since 2015 with hundreds of 5 star reviews. We've always enjoyed having guests at our one of a kind 1880's Victorian home with modern additions. One of only six houses in the Twin Cities right on the river. Relax in the river room with a beautiful bent wood solarium, fireplace and river view. Enjoy the dock for sunsets, downtown views, nature and the colorful Lowry Bridge. A rare historic home we like to call "country in the city".
A buzzing restaurant district. Within a few blocks are 4 restaurants, a brew pub, and coffee shops. The Sample Room restaurant is 2 doors south.
Near Twins, Timberwolves, Vikings, US Bank stadium, Walker Art Center, Guthrie Theater, 1st Avenue, night life, art galleries, live music, cinemas, hiking trails, brew pubs, kayak and bike rentals.
The space:
A spacious, open layout with private rooms, pocket doors, leaded glass, original art, beautiful light and modern furnishings. We've hosted 1 or 2 guests, families, friends for small gatherings, and many business travelers.
Guest access
This is a large duplex. We live on the second floor if you have questions. You have the entire private first floor: fully equipped kitchen, river room with solarium, living room which includes a 4th comfortable queen fold out. Two bedrooms with pocket doors are on the first floor along with a third bedroom on the second floor via a staircase that we do not share with guests. Your private entrance is a sliding glass door on the river-side. The back patio has a table, 6 chairs and gas grill. There's also a side porch so there's plenty of room for gatherings or hanging outside to enjoy views of the Mississippi river.
Our large modular space and huge backyard has been used for special events, family reunions, retreats and weddings. Please ask about your event and we can negotiate a price.

We loved the location, with a beautiful shared dock and yard. It was right on s street with restaurants, bars, parks, and walking/ biking trails. Inside the home and yard, you are surrounded by trees and nature, we couldn't hear any traffic, just birds.

Very well-maintained and cute property! Furnishings as promised. Slight dog aroma, which we expected. Great location along the river and along the Art-a-Whirl trolley route.

Beautiful

We had a wonderful stay! The location was perfect for our weekend plans, perfect spot if you're planning on going to a show at The Fillmore. It was refreshing to have a space so homey and lived in where we could make outselves right at home. We hope to visit again soon!

Interesting, comfortable and enjoyable stay!

The owners shared many of their personal items (books, games, art, etc.) that made the stay even more comfortable. The beds were great. The area very interesting and near the venue where we attended a wedding.

Peaceful stay in a vibrant home

Lovely time with a couple good friends in this unique home with a relaxing vibe. Plenty of room for our needs, enjoyed viewing the art and decor in each space. Hosts are easygoing and friendly. Great location in NE. Looking forward to returning in the summer to enjoy the yard and river!

Perfect Place for a Family Gathering

We rented this location for a Thanksgiving gathering with our family that lives in the area, and we couldn’t have asked for a better space. The kitchen was well-equipped for our purposes, there was plenty of space for activities, and the three bedrooms were all more than cozy enough. We will keep this spot in mind if we ever return to the Twin Cities for something similar in the future.

River walks and Art

This was exactly what we were looking for to cozily spend a few days. We enjoyed being by the water, walking distance from artist studios and galleries, and walking trails along the river. Having a fireplace for the fire crisp fall evenings was a highlight, and we were pleased with the kitchen amenities as we enjoy cooking.

Cool and Fascinating Property

We loved staying at this property. It has such a cool and unique history. It was very chill and comfortable and a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of life. Everything about it was stellar. Isabelle and Phillip were great hosts. We will definitely stay her again.

We hosted a birthday party for a few families and a few from out of town stayed overnight. House is gorgeous, so beautiful to be right on the river, with lots of comfortable space to spread out in. The owners were very responsive to communication while we organized our plans - I really appreciated it! Thanks for a great stay!

What a cozy place!

We had a such great time. The location was perfect for getting to events at U of M. Very comfortable beds. Loved the fireplace, the light, the view. Decor was so thoughtful and hip. It was fun to be in the space. We invited friends for dinner because we wanted to spend more time there rather than go out. Thank you for a great stay!

Concert getaway

A group of us came to the Twin Cities for a two day show. The location was close to downtown and the venue. It was super easy to navigate. Great local restaurants. Isabelle & Phillip were great hosts. Their place was amazing with the decor and it was right on the river. The place was beautiful.

Family & State Fair Visit

Fantastic place to stay. The house was spacious and comfortable for 5 adults, including 1 in a wheelchair. With a short ramp, the space is wheelchair accessible if you don't need an accessible bathroom. The backyard was peaceful and beautiful, with a great view of the river. The hosts and their dog Poe were wonderful and responsive. We look forward to staying here again when visiting family.

Perfect spot for our wedding weekend!

My (now) husband and I stayed here for our wedding weekend and it was absolutely perfect! The house is adorable and well taken care of. We loved the built in stereo system to play old records and CDs throughout the house. The view of the river was beautiful! I got ready for the wedding here and the lighting and space were so great to have a few people around. We are hoping to spend anniversaries here in the future! Big bonus was meeting the owners and their sweet dog, Poe. They were super kind humans and left us a celebratory bottle of wine for our wedding!

Spacious and eclectic style

We had a wonderful graduation celebration at this beautiful gem on the river. Only thing that would’ve been better -if the weather cooperated with an opportunity to have a firepit experience. Perfect place to be inside and listen to music, play games and have long and deep conversation. Definitely a favorite!

Weekend wedding in Minneapolis

Traveled with our young adult children to Minneapolis for a wedding. Very unique VRBO! Walking distance to several restaurants. 3rd bedroom upstairs in dormer was a little warm and may be a no go for some in hot summer months - since rest of home is cooled with window AC, our son chose to sleep on futon on main level. Owner found a set of AirPods we left behind, messaged immediately, and returned promptly which was very kind.

Funky and Cool Space

Went to see old friends in MPLS and wanted to bring my teen along to check out PRIDE week and other touristy stuff. Our hosts were so nice and made our stay very comfortable. They had great suggestions for where to eat and shop conveniently posted. The place is cool and arty and that view of the Mississippi River is beautiful. Plus they have the sweetest dog who likes to hang out. My only suggestion is more hooks in the bathroom to hang towels or hooks in the bedrooms. And I need to get bed pillows like the ones there because they were so comfy. I slept better than I've slept in ages.
