Pool Heating FAQs: Pool heat is available October–May for $150/day and June–September for $100/day, with a target temperature of 82–85°F, as long as air temperatures remain above 35°F.
A few important details to be aware of: **Pool heat must be requested at least 48 hours prior to arrival so it’s ready for your stay. **The pool must be heated for the entire reservation. We’re unable to heat for select days, as the heater must be turned on prior to arrival and it takes approximately 24 hours to bring the pool up to temperature. For this reason, pool heat is charged per night for the full stay, even if you plan to swim only on certain days. **This is a heated pool, not a hot tub (though we do have a hot tub if you’re looking for truly hot water).
Winter Weather Note (Please Read Carefully): **During winter, the pool is equipped with freeze protection. When air temperatures drop below 35°F, the heater automatically shuts off and the pool will cool. The longer the heater is off, the more the water temperature will drop—and the longer it will take to reheat once temperatures rise again. The pool will not begin heating again until the air temperature rises above 35°F, and in colder conditions it may take most or all of the day to reach the target temperature. In these conditions, the pool will not maintain the target temperature of 82–85°F. As a result, there may be only a short window of comfortable swimming, even though the full heating fee still applies. **Pool heating during colder months is highly weather dependent, and in some cases, heating the pool during this time may simply not be worthwhile. **In our experience, a heated pool in winter is usually more of a novelty for kids—our own kids will happily jump in even on chilly days. While 85°F sounds warm, that temperature refers to the water and is often not as warm as it sounds, especially once you’re out of the pool. When air temperatures are below 50°F, most adults tend to prefer the hot tub, which provides a much more comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Pool is professionally cleaned weekly, Guests will have access to skimmer and robot vacuum for additional cleaning.

Cabin was very nice. Clean with all great amenities. Basically brand new. Kids had plenty to do as well. Owners were easily accessible and great to work with.
We had the sweetest time with our family. The beds were comfy. The house had lots of things to do. And Faith was an amazing host. She answered all of my questions quick and was super kind.
We had a great stay! The cabin was cozy and inviting, the mountain view was stunning, and Faith was easy to reach. Such a peaceful place surrounded by nature.
This place was amazing! We took family and extended family here for the entire week of Thanksgiving. The entire home is very well appointed and well laid out for large groups. The entire booking, pre-arrival, arrival, and departure process was very easy with a high level of communication. Faith and her team were a gem to work with on this visit.
The cabin was very clean and well appointed. The outdoor facilities were well maintained. Plenty of recreational activities for all ages. Our family will have great memories of this vacation at Big Timber Cabin.
We had a fantastic time. The house was amazing. Spacious, clean, and totally equipped for anything we wanted to cook. The beds as well as all of the furniture was so comfortable. We will be back.
The cabin was beautiful and spacious. Having certain amenities made it easy specially having kids with us. We had unexpected weather issues but communication with the manager was good and they tried to resolve things as quickly as possible.
Close to fun downtown area and Blue Ridge Lake which was an extra plus.
We very much enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. It was extremely easy to get too. It had some great amenities. We were hoping the pool would be available but we understand it wound be hard to heat it during the months of December thru February. Great play area for kids. We used the swing set a lot, and the men enjoyed poker, horse shoes, corn hole, and hot tubs. Faith was so easy to get in touch with and answered all of our questions. My only suggestion would be to provide a gate to the downstairs. I should have known to bring one for my toddler. Thank y'all for providing this wonderful cabin.
We stayed at this incredible home for a family vacation. Bar none, this was the most well appointed, organized and cleanest property we have ever rented, and we have rented many. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need for cooking and serving meals and everything was neat and orderly. The beds were all super comfortable and the linens were nice and soft with king pillows and plenty of them. There was plenty of TP, paper towels, soap, dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent. I just cannot say enough good things about this property. The views were beautiful, the pool and hot tub were relaxing and the playground with cornhole and horseshoes were fun for everyone, including the 21 month old. Horseshoe Bend park is right down the street with a dog park, river, track for walking/running and another playground. Faith was attentive and met all of our needs! We had an exceptional week in this home and plan to rent it again next year. It was fantastic and I would highly recommend!!
We had our first family vacation with our newlywed kids and their spouses. They all got married between 2022-23! My oldest daughter planned games and activities and came up with the silly name for our family get together.
My husband and I arrived a day early and began our stay with a glass of wine as we watched a beautiful sunset on the back deck. The kids and their spouses started arriving over the next 2 days. Our party of 10 had a fabulous time here. The kids unanimously voted for a house with a swimming pool and we were not disappointed. We were also attracted by the pool table and poker table. Lots of male bonding happened over some friendly, but competitive games while the girls chatted and watched movies upstairs.
The property is secluded but close enough to Blue Ridge. We went to town a few times for lunch and shopping. The neighborhood roads are perfect for a 2.5 mile hilly walk. And the home had plenty of room for us to enjoy each other’s company without feeling crowded. The kitchen was perfect for us all to have family meals together. They were plenty of appliances and gadgets for my foodie kids to fix some really lovely meals. The beds were comfortable. And there were lots of extras in the design of the home that made us feel welcome.
We rate this property and our stay a 10/10!
Lovely place for our 3 generation family. Kids loved the pool. A few minutes to towns of Blue Ridge or McCaysville. Hosts were quick to respond and inform. Had a great time!
Everyone enjoyed having their own space, the common areas and especially the amenities. The main house was fully stocked including kitchen/cooking utensils and pots/pans. We were able to truly enjoy our family vacation.
