"I honestly choose a resort, but I accidentally choose this area. However, I would recommend for those who are low budget travelers but who are willing to take a break and rest in their amazing hot springs. "I stayed at this hotel twice during my stay in Quito (once in the hotel portion and the other in the hotel section). I found the entire place to be very clean, modern, and convenient. The staff was accommodating, nice, and welcoming. The surrounding area felt safe and had plenty of restaurants, bars, and stores. I used the spa and had an amazing massage. It was too chilly for the pool, but the rooftop is great even to sit and have a drink."

The Mindo Cloud forest is a short drive from bustling Quito, but it feels like an entirely different world. One of the most popular things to do in Mindo is to hike. The hike to the Cascadas took us around 21/2 hours and was well worth it for the incredible views. Along the hike, we saw countless butterflies, hummingbirds, orchids, and incredible waterfalls. #LifeAtExpediaGroup

Here we have a female Violet-tailed Sylph. How do I know it's a female? Because the male has a long blue tail that extends twice his body length. We spotted this beautiful girl at Tony Nunnery's hummingbird garden in the Tandayapa Valley. I love hummingbirds and always hunt down the best places to see and photograph them, and Tony's garden is world class. Hundreds of hummingbirds from at least a dozen species flitted around us in the short couple of hours that we were there. A place you must visit if you ever find yourself in Ecuador.
