Our preteen/teen enjoyed fishing and kayaking. Parents and Grandparents enjoyed morning coffee on the screen porch while watching plethora of birds and deer. Very close to St. Louis attractions.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The pond setting is peaceful - spent most of our time just sitting out near the water reading/journaling/relaxing. Even caught a few fish! The location is closer to a road than we expected, but it didn't cause any issues. It's also within 15-20 minute drive of many restaurants which we appreciated. Would certainly consider staying again!
My husband just wanted to get away for a few days with the dogs to fish and relax. The house is very nice and clean, the hot tub was amazing. We met Kim , one of the owners and she was very friendly and very helpful. We would definitely stay there again. Five out of five stars for everything.
Cute, cozy country cabin with antique furniture that will remind you of what you grew up with! Wonderful hot tub! Spacious mud room for towels afterwards. Nice layout of the lower level of the cabin.
Beautiful property with country feel. Lake is right in your backyard - so amazing for coffee in the morning and s’mores at night. House is cute as can be and very comfortable. Owners are on same property and incredibly gracious. would come here over and over again. Close to several small towns so fun for shopping and exploring.
The property is absolutely beautiful. Whether you want to fish, soak in the hot tub, have a fire, or just relax inside and play games. There are also so many things nearby to do! I can't say enough about the host and hostess communication prior to and during your stay. They were great!!! Will definitely book again and recommend to others.
My best friend of 50 years and I spent four days at this lovely house. The hosts were wonderful; answered any questions we had very promptly. We are both in our 70s and the stairs were more of a challenge than I had anticipated from the pictures, but we managed. The house is lovely, the grounds are great and the fishing was awesome. We would definitely recommend this or a quiet getaway, especially if you like to fish.
Quiet and relaxing getaway. House and kitchen had everything we needed, we just brought food. They have a lot of outdoor amenities including a hot tub, corn hole, chairs, hammock, docks, fishing poles, boats, life jackets and more. Cute decor and awesome enclosed porch with a beautiful view. Will stay there again!
My wife really liked the rustic feel of the place and was impressed with how clean it was at the same time. For me, it felt like a retirement property that I’d had for years, it was very welcoming.
We didn’t take advantage of the water (kayaks, fishing, etc..) but we had friends over and used the grill to cook. We’d take our dogs outside in the back of the house and there was never any problem.
The point of this stay was to visit friends, watch old movies, relax, and do some studying, it was a great choice.
From the minute we pulled in, relaxation set in. Such a charming property, we had all the essentials for an amazing weekend. Kim and Tony were on top of everything, so incredibly welcoming and offering local recommendations... they are the perfect hosts. We were in town for a lax tournament and the house was within a good distance to everything we needed. So grateful for the perfect weekend for our family.
Visited a friend who lives local. Found this place on a vrbo search and absolutely loved it. Quiet and out of the way. Was feeling depressed and this is exactly what i needed to lift my spirits. I hope the next time i visit, this will be available.
The hot tub helped a little too. 😁
Loved all the Knotty Pine . My grandma lived on this lake and this was her brother in laws home and his wife. He was wonderful with carpentry, even made grandfather clocks. Not much had changed. Well the hot tub wasn't there a nice plus. Loved the wood stove on screened in patio. Heard owls and coyotes. They had lots of holiday decor which made it very festive. And owners very very nice.
My husband and I spent two weeks at this beautiful location! He grew up in nearby Belleville. We brought our tandem bicycle and enjoyed lots of fun riding. The owners were great to work with. We especially enjoyed the lake and back patio for relaxing. The only downside was the farmer across the road was drying his soybeans and ran the fan on his storage unit 24/7 the first week. It was pretty noisy. The owners did their best to talk with the neighbors to resolve the issue but could not resolve it completely. Thankfully the second week was quiet. We highly recommend this property, but check with the owners if you are going during harvest season to avoid the noise issue from the neighbors.
Quick trip to get away from a kitchen remodel going on at hometl that is taking longer than planned. Also got the hubby and i for Christmas tickets to see Jeff Dunham at the Enterprise Center in St Louis and a bonus gift to go see the Blues play.
Our dog loved the peace and quiet of the house and the fact that he was able to stay in the mud room instead of being locked in a cage while we were gone.
Host Kim and Tony were great and went above and beyond to make sure their guest had wverything they needed. Robes provided for the hot tub. Towels and life jackets also provided for pond activities. Along with lots of spices and a good stock of stuff in the kitchen.
Will definitely stay again if available when we want to visit the st louis area again.
They also would text us and let us know when they were going to let their dogs out so we could male sure ours was inside.
They dogs did ended up meeting the morning we left and did fine with eachother but was greatly appreciated of the little gesture. You never know how dogs will be with eachother or other people. So it was nice to have the heads up.
