"An absolute gem of a hotel. Staff are superb, the grounds are fantastic and the food is amazing. The breakfast is top tier with incredible homemade chutneys and various fruits soaked in delicious syrups along with freshly made hot food. We had dinner at the restaurant - proper, high quality ingredients - genuine quality. It also has an extensive wine selection (definitely not the normal bland wine lists you normally find). The rooms are very comfortable as well. If we return to Carlingford, we will certainly be staying here. Couldn't remember it more if staying in the area."
"This has to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The building itself is stunning and the furniture fits in incredibly well and helps keep the hotels character authentic. The level of cleanliness was outstanding and you can tell the owners and staff take a genuine pride in making sure the hotel is kept to an exceptional standard. Breakfast was amazing, freshly cooked with good quality ingredients. Fantastic location with a train station 5 minutes walk away and a fantastic bar close by. Easy walking distance to the local town and bars but also not too close that noise becomes an issue. Would absolutely stay here again and if anyone is visiting the area I would highly recommend staying here."
"Wonderful B&B! If you’re reading this and considering a place to stay in or around Dundalk, stop scrolling and book a room here now. My wife and I just got back last night from 10 days all over Ireland and this was our favorite stay. Helena, Tomas and the rest of the staff are amazing! The room was perfect and everyone there very kind and accommodating! My wife and I are already trying to plan our next trip to Ireland so we can stay here again…"
"Brilliant Hotel, the most friendliest staff clean rooms great breakfast great swimming pool Great evening meal and the drink is cheaper than the bars of the town
I certainly will be staying again"
"The house was absolutely immaculate and beautifully furnished with everything you need. Ciara was a lovely host and made some great recommendations for restaurants. Thank you Ciara - we can’t wait to come back !!"
The best area to stay in Millgrange is generally along the coast, particularly near the beach, for its scenic beauty and convenient access to local attractions.
This area offers a relaxed setting with views of the Irish Sea. You'll find a mix of guesthouses and holiday homes, many within walking distance of the beach. The main coastal road, which runs parallel to the beach, provides easy access to local amenities and dining options.
Families often find this coastal stretch ideal. The proximity to the beach means children can easily enjoy sandcastles and paddling. There are also several local parks and activity centres nearby that cater to younger visitors, making it easy to keep everyone entertained.
Couples looking for a peaceful getaway will also appreciate the coastal area. The quiet evenings and opportunities for strolls along the shore provide a relaxing escape.

During this period, you'll find the most pleasant conditions for exploring the beautiful countryside and coastal areas of County Louth. May and June offer lovely, fresh weather, often with fewer crowds than the peak summer months. July and August are the warmest months, superb for enjoying outdoor activities and the region's beaches.
