Each year in Macon, GA a festival bringing people in from surrounding area pops up for a week in early spring. The cherry blossom festival is a festival that most people have heard of, for I'm sure you have one near you. The one in Macon lasts a week an has carnival rides, strong man competitions, dog trick shows, mattress races, and many many more fun things to do all week.

On the first Saturday of the festival a unique event happens that brings tens of thousands to just sit and watch. The balloon glow. Hot air balloons come in from all around and set up in the fields outside Macon state college. During the afternoon and into the evening you are able to pay $10 and go up for a short ride that will briefly give you the experience of a hot air balloon ride. But at night, that is when things light up. With a live band on stage these balloons light up the night sky as they rise and fall through the air. With over 20 balloons it is beautiful when they all go off at the same time. People cheer, horns blow, bands play, and everyone has a great time as these balloons shows each year.

"Staff was super friendly and very outgoing. Breakfast was just OK, but not bad. You can tell this is an older hotel as the elevator door is smaller than most nowadays, and the doors in the room are also tighter. You can also tell that’s been remodeled. But has been remodeled perfectly to resemble a newer facility. The room looks just like a newer, typical hotel bed was amazingly comfortable. Everything in the room is modern and updated. Hotel is slightly off the beaten path, however, close to everything in Macon. Highly recommend this hotel!! "

"Where do I begin? Hole in the wall, insects present, sticky liquid spilled on dresser, lamp shades soiled, no smoke detector in the room, stained bed coverings with cigarette holes, mold on the ceiling the bathroom and around the exhaust vent. Got moved to a 2nd room, a little better but with a few more insects, more stained bed coverings with cigarette holes. Lobby is locked so you talk through bullet proof glass. Ice machine Not operational. Not a great experience. Shut it down. Travelocity should remove this location from booking ability. "
