This spacious, turn of the century lakefront cottage does not lose its original charm playing host to modern amenities. With almost 100' of waterfront on Lake Michigamme, Copper Moose Cottage is an ideal family vacation home. Swim off the dock, jump off the swim raft, fish or tour around Lake Michigamme using the provided kayaks, or play one of the many provided yard games on the spacious waterfront lawn. If it's a day to relax inside, the large rear cottage windows offer a panoramic view of the amazing lawn, gardens, and lake. Copper Moose Cottage is just a short convenient walk to a nice park and playground, Crock and Rocker Boutique, a museum, a village library, and many community activities.

All three bedrooms, the laundry room, and the half bath can be found on the upper level of the home. On the main floor, you can gather OR spread out in the well-appointed kitchen, the lake room seating and dining areas, near the fireplace, or in the family room with television and reading nook. The full bathroom, front den, the mud room, and a recreation room are also found on the main level. When not enjoying the great outdoors, check out the great indoors! The rec room features a pool table that easily converts to play ping-pong, or challenge someone to a game on the electronic dart board. Newly added arcade game with 14 games to challenge friends and family as well! Guests can also take advantage of the many family-friendly board games, books, and DVD's.

Just steps out the back door you'll find ample seating and comfortable lounge chairs. Gather around the fire pit to chat or roast marshmallows. Cook meals on the propane grill. The perennial gardens allow you to enjoy fresh cut flowers during your stay and also create a beautiful backdrop to this historic home. It's no surprise that this home once featured a bustling flower shop!

While you enjoy the modern conveniences here such as Wi-Fi, propane fireplace, and Roku TV's, please be aware this almost 120-year-old home comes with slightly slanted floors and crooked doorways. We feel these only enhance the character and charm of the cottage and in no way take anything away from your guest experience. Think quaint and comfortably livable!

The Copper Moose was a great place to stay! Check-in and check-out was easy. Very professionally handled. The cottage was clean and exceeded our expectations in many ways. The location is perfect! The Copper Moose is right on the shore of Lake Michigamme. The cottage has a lovely beach area and an amazing view of the lake. It is about halfway between Marquette and Houghton, perfect for day trips in either direction. There were many thoughtful touches. We were very comfortable here. From the nicely equipped kitchen to the fun-filled rec room, everything we needed was provided. The WiFi was fast enough for me; that is one of my essentials. We especially enjoyed the outdoor gathering space during this pandemic time. There is a table & chairs, a grill, a fire pit, and plenty of seating. It was an excellent spot to visit with friends and family. On a personal note, it was interesting to have a close look at the perennial gardens. The gardens are gorgeous! We are creating an area of native plants on a portion of our south lawn. I took note of what was in the Copper Moose gardens and will use these ideas when planting next spring. We enjoyed our time at the Copper Moose. We would love to stay here again!

Perfect Escape from Reality
This property is exactly as described and then some. It is very clean and has everything you need to relax. My family enjoyed using the rec room, kayaks, and relaxing while looking at the lake. The lake was cold, but refreshing to swim in, and I would recommend wearing water shoes, like they tell you on the listing. The company was very responsive to any of my questions and made check-in and check-out a breeze. And we definitely enjoyed the Thimbleberry jam and English muffins. We would definitely stay here again.
