We only stayed at the property for one night. I will definitely be back, the property is beautiful and well maintained. I was telling my husband that we need to go back in spring or fall.

Chateau de Citeaux was my favorite place to stay on our trip the the French wine regions. The location in Mersault is perfect for people who want to bike the Rte de Grand Cru, hike and walk among the vineyards. The walk into “town” is 5 min. The staff at Chateau was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Our room (16) was big with a lovely balcony overlooking a vineyard. The bathroom was well-equipped with amenities and a large shower. I enjoyed access to the pool and hot tub area in the spa. Our one regret is that we only stayed here 2 nights. Once we arrived we tried to extend our stay, but they were fully booked. We will definitely stay here again and spend more time in Mersault. This Chateau is close to the busier town of Beaune, if you want to do more shopping, wine tasting and tourist activities. We highly recommend Chateau de Citeaux!

We stayed on our way down to south of France. We were not disappointed. Beautiful setting next to vineyard and 2 mins walk to the village centre. We had dinner outside and had the set menu which was excellent. Extensive wine list. We also used the spa in morning before setting off. Very peaceful and comfortable rooms. Will stay again and have recommended to friends already.

V good hotel in Meursault
For price a basic room. Only 2 coffee capsules, no mini bar for example, stayed in Hotel D'Beaune following night for less money. Room & bathroom twice the size and much higher standard. Very clean. Service a little less than you would hope. Waiting at reception to check out & eventually having to go to first floor to find someone to help an example. Food & wine excellent & very good value for money. Ambience wonderful guess this is why you pay the premium compared to Beaune centre. Overall very good, would stay again & not far off 5*

Good experience but overpriced
Beautiful hotel located in a nice área with nice facilities. We were surprised with the prices charged for the mini bar and the glasses of wine in the restaurant as it was much more expensive than other hotels and restaurants in the region. Usually hotels offer at least one complementary bottle of water and it was charged 4 euros for small one. Paying 16-17 euros for a glass of wine from the region and 19 euros for breakfast per person that is usually included is too overpriced in our opinion.

Thankfully called the Chateaux prior to check in. They didn’t have our room, it was given away. They said nothing they can do. Chateaux never called me to let me know that they gave my room away. They put us up in Le Montrachet which was absolutely beautiful and I guess comparable, not sure how to compare the two other then one being a Chateaux and the other a small boutique hotel. Nonetheless our stay at Le Montrachet was amazing and our room was in a 3 room house with a terrace that led to a yard.

We very much enjoyed our stay and the chateau setting was magnificent and gardens and surrounding were beautiful The food was excellent and our entire stay was very restful and relaxing. The staff that we met were very helpful but sometimes we felt they were a little over wrought. (A concierge to help with bags would have helped on arrival). The property is clearly exclusive and in our opinion ‘exclusive hotels’ should include breakfast in the room cost, especially when no where else local serves breakfast. Overall though this is a magnificent place to stay and we will return.

The service was wonderful and the food and wine were great. The room, however, is very small and plain. It looks like a cheap basic room. The photo on the website must have been taken with a wide angle lens. We had stayed in another chateau before this visit and the room was 4 times as large, beautifully decorated and included breakfast for less money.

lovely hotel, not great if you have luggage
My hotel room was clean and the food was amazing. However my room did not have lift access. There were 20 stairs in a spiral staircase that I needed to take my luggage up to access my room. As i have been travelling for 3 weeks my suitcase is rather large so i had to leave this in the car and only take up what i needed for my stay, lucky i was only staying for one night. This was not ideal. I booked this hotel on the basis that it said it had a lift, I think it should be made much clearer that not all rooms have lift access and no porters to move your luggage. For $260/night I would expect to have lift access to my room for luggage.

Small castle very nice place to stay
This small old castle is a very nice place to stay, staff is extremely friendly and the kitchen and wines are terrific. From most rooms you have a view of the area. The location is close to the centre of the village, only a few minutes walk. The area fits very much for walking and their are some trips that can be made that are well sign-posted. Our room was modern and had everything we needed, including minibar and well functioning wifi. Only small negative point were the beds that were quite soft.

Five star hotel with a three-star food service
This property is gorgeous and the setting in the village of Meursault is unbeatable. The reception staff was terrific, helping to book winery tours and other appointments for us. The main disappointment was the restaurant. The breakfast was a very paltry offering of a very basic fruit salad and some pastries. It was 19 euros pp and compared very poorly with the 9 euro pp beautiful buffet with fresh fruit, hot eggs bacon and sausage and other items at the much cheaper hotel we'd just come from in Barcelona. For dinner, the food was great but the wine list disappointing served by a young waitress who knew nothing about the wine. Asked if there were any wines older available, she said Burgundy is meant to be drunk younger. Asked about differences among the recent vintages in the reason she said all were really good. We ended up with an 80 euro premier cru that was fine but could easily have been a 10 euro George's Duboef and no one would have known the difference. In the end, loved the property but the restaurant does not deliver for what it is trying to be.

Beautiful location, easy access to all the vineyards in Burgundy. Beautiful hotel but had to eat out!
Sorry to give only 3 stars overall but the listings don't ask about dining rooms. This hotel is beautiful and has an exquisite dining room. We had booked this place so that we could dine in on our journey south through France. Unfortunately, they forgot to notify us that the dining room was closed so we had to go out to a local restaurant. The duty manager was extremely apologetic and brought us some complimentary drinks but we were disappointed and would have stayed elsewhere had we been informed about this. The room itself was large and comfortable with an excellent bathroom and we did visit the dining room for breakfast - but do confirm that you can eat there before booking!

Disappointing modern hotel inside historic shell
On approach the Chateau looks impressive with a new extension to the side housing the indoor swimming pool. Unfortunately that is where the impressive experience ends. Far from a historic hotel the upper floor bedrooms have been built to fairly basic modern hotel standards, rooms partitioned by plasterboard, cheap laminate flooring and really ultra modern white and cream feel totally inappropriate for the property. The bathroom has a shower over the bath. One challenge you have to be able to lift your leg three feet to get into the bath. Many elderly people would not manage this with ease and as well as being unable to bathe or shower would risk serious injury. The reception and lounge areas retain the old Chateau features. All one can say here is dilapidated, in need of restoration. It feels like they ran out of money creating the rooms. The dining room is relatively attractive but marred by the fact that the doors are scratched and worn. Much clutter around in the corridors too. Breakfast at €18 a total rip off and basic in the extreme. Cucumber slices and tomatoes cut and prepared at least the night before and totally inedible. Little choice and variety of other items. Overall a huge disappointment overpriced and hyped. There are much better properties nearby. If you want a Chateau hotel this is not the one to chose. If you want an Ibis, Premier Inn, Novotel room in a nice building go ahead and book.

Gorgeous chateau in lovely location
This is a wonderful place - gorgeous chateau overlooking vineyards and the charming town of Meursault. The spa was a nice addition and we actually used it, although we're definitely not spa people. The staff was great - we had an issue when we arrived and they went out of their way to resolve the problem. Our only problem related to the food service. We do not like buffets, partly because we have trouble resisting the temptation to eat too much, so always opt for a continental breakfast. However, we were told we could not eat the continental breakfast in the beautiful dining room - we could eat in our room or in the rather dark, dreary bar area. In addition, when we decided to have a special dinner at the chateau, we were told dinner was not available that night. Like many European restaurants, they close down on Sunday (Monday also I believe). I thought this was disappointing for a high quality hotel.

Unique experience at an 11th century chateau
We only stay at this hotel for 1 night and regretted not staying longer. We arrived at the chateau by taxi from Beaune train station and we were greeted by a very friendly "butler-like" staff. He suggested a few things to do nearby, lent us two bikes to get around with, gave us two vouchers for a wine tasting session at Chateau de Pommard, and arranged a tour around the chateau with the owner. The current owner bought the chateau in 2009 and restored it to its current state in 2012. The hotel rooms are very modern with excellent views to the nearby vineyard during the day and plenty of stars at night. The owner prefers to keep certain parts of the chateau close to its original character, thus the front desk, bar and dining areas still retains the original woodwork, paintings and floors. The owner went through the history of the chateau with us during our guided tour, and was very friendly and cares about our experience. The chateau also has a swimming pool, jacuzzi and spa facilities; we only used the jacuzzi for our short stay. Breakfast did cost extra, but the food quality was very good.
