Comfortable large units with two double beds.
Great breakfast included but dinner was simple with few choices. Limited restaurants in the town.
Communication was limited--no map of area and no receipt for cash payment. Walked on short trail that had no signage or map and ran into what looked like an old Mayan stone house.

Liked: Cleanliness
Room has windows on all sides, and mine had other rooms all around. Folks were walking around at night and early in the morning with lights. I didn’t sleep well. Breakfast was fine, but not great.
Our room run out of water and that was very unpleasant. They allowed us to use another one from another room, but that was not comfortable.
We spent two nights there. There was not cleaning service for the room
Superbe chambre dans un superbe endroit . Petit dejeuner copieux.
Wonderful. Nice, quiet, very safe spot to stay while exploring the area. The hammocks were really nice and the breakfast is outstanding. You should stay here.
Nice, spacious, comfortable building / room in a well kept, garden-like environment.
The hotel “campus” offers plenty of shaded areas to walk, sit and chat around a table. Very relaxing place. I say it without testing the hammock, the chair and the coffee table on the veranda.
The breakfast (coffee, tea, juice, fruits, toast & egg omelet) was tasty and well served.
The place has no on site restaurant, but the town of Santa Elena is in five minutes away, where one can find several.
My only complain is about the shower.
There was a sign in the bathroom suggesting that water is precious, so let’s save it. The message is true, water is scarce in that area.
But I run the shower for minutes before I realized that the “hot” water only a few degrees warmer than the cold one: my willingness to save water just went down through the drain.
Please improve your water heating system. Maybe a bit bigger solar warmer unit would help.
A special experience for sure. Clearly an eco-friendly hotel, but not to such an extreme extent that it affects your stay much. A cute place, quite far into the forest. Sheltered and quiet. I had no reception on my phone, but the wifi worked perfectly. Very nice staff. Bring your own towels, because the ones they have don't absorb water and are completely useless.
Great stay on the Ruta Puuc! Everything was very good..The natural surroundings are very peaceful and the breakfast was good. We stayed 2 nights here coming from Merida. I would definitely stay again. We ate at the corner restaurant right by the main square in Santa Elena both nights. There is also a small store closer to the hotel that sells provisions (beer). The hotel is easy to find.
The place is awesome. A forested oasis. They're completely off the grid: clean well water which we drank straight out of the tap (yes you read that correctly!). solar power for electricity. Grounds are very nice. Breakfast provided by the owners is excellent. Very close to Uxmal ruins (10 min drive), and the town of Santa Elena (5 minute drive). They also do yoga retreats, have a sweat lodge, and my personal favorite was sleeping in a hammock outside of our door listening to the chorus of frogs. It was amazing. Only thing is no AC (presumably because whole place is solar powered). We were here in blazing heat, and though definitely warm I preferred sleeping outside in the hammock which was great - no bugs either, I slept in shorts only.
My first 2 choices of hotel were full so I tried this hotel and am so pleased I did. It’s a beautiful jungle retreat, a bit hidden, without loud billboards promoting itself. Super clean, friendly staff, WiFi , good breakfast. The staff are locals which was great. At this point only breakfast is offered so be aware you have to go out to dinner or bring snacks. No refer in rooms. Having a car is helpful but not absolutely necessary.. I came by Uber and left by city bus. I’m a solo female traveler and had a relaxed safe visit. Uxmal ruins are worth in visit. Oh yes, this hotel Is less expensive than others.. Thank you Umberto for gathering leaves to make a special tea to help me with my asthma symptoms, it really helped.
