Casa Kuxtal was everything we wanted for our extended stay in Merida. The host was attentive and readily available. The house had everything we needed, was clean, comfortable and was a nice "refuge" and retreat space. Also the location is perfect, with many galleries, coffee shops and amazing eateries nearby! Highly recommended.

Marida vacation

We stayed for 12 days and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The house is perfectly located, close by the central area while still a fairly quiet location. The owner was very responsive to our concerns.

This property was great for our short stay in Merida. The location was walking distance to Paseo Mentejo and the shops and restaurants of Calle 60. The home was charming and comfortable and the hosts were gracious and responsive. We appreciated their hospitality!

Beautiful home

Casa Kuxtal is lovely: high ceilings, beautiful tiles, good ac and fans, very clean and great location! The jardin needs some work and the pool is not very big and fills quickly with leaves. The hot water in the house is super hot But only lasts a few minutes. Unlike most tentals there are no ants! Amazing!

Comfortable house in a great location

My husband and I stayed for just over a month at Casa Kuxtal and loved it. The location is just perfect with an easy walk to so many of the key places in Mérida. The house itself has pretty much all you need for a relaxing stay. We loved the garden and all of the light that the big window brought into the living room. The design of the house and the ceiling fans allowed it to stay quite cool and while there were three air conditioners, we only ever used the one in the bedroom.Would we stay here again? Most definitely!

In short, Casa Kuxtal made our stay in Merida magical. The kids lived in the pool when we weren’t climbing Maya ruins, touring museums or eating cochinita pibil in one of the many nearby restaurants. The house is stocked with everything you need (and nothing you don’t), including the kitchen. While the central location can’t be beat, it’s a quiet oasis once inside and in the back garden. To top it off, Esteban (our host) was quick with communication and very accommodating. Make this your Merida home base, you won’t be disappointed!

Casa Kuxtal the House of Life

The property is in a perfect location - restuarants and shopping are all withing walking distant. The Santa Ana market, church and park are just across the street. Found a wonderful little coffee shop on Calle 60 that is just a short walk from the house. House large and clean. The only issue we had is that communication is by messenger - so, until I found that out were were locked outside not knowing the combination to the lock box. Issue resolved once when go Esteban by phone. The washing machine did not work - when my son tried to use it, water flooded the small room outside. The laundry room was very cluttered so even if you could wash it would be a challenge. I understand that there was no dryer - but we could not have hung clothes due to overcast days with drizzle. I recommend using any local laundry mat - all clothes wash and dried at the same time and very affordable. The other issue is the 2nd restroom is outside - this should be stressed so people can make an informed decision. More towels would have been nice - we had to buy additiona towels as well as toliet paper and paper towels. All that said I would still stay there again - it's too perfect a location.

Charming, Peaceful, Convenient

Our week here was pure bliss - from soaking in the pool to napping in the hammock. Casa Kuxtul is equally convenient to Centro and Ave Montejo. Kitchen was fully equipped, the bed comfy, and owners easy to deal with. We'd stay again and recommend to friends.

Our vacation was excellent. The vacation was everything we hoped it would be. Casa Kuxtal is amazing and even nicer than advertised. Location was key for us, as we love walking downtown and around the area. Israel and Rosie are both great and very helpful.

Lovely near the park

We stayed four days in a very comfortable and beautifully furnished home in the Santa Ana area of Merida. It was VERY convenient for walking to many places of interest. It was very hospitable. The owners and the caretakers were all most-friendly and helpful. We would happily stay again on a future visit to Merida.

This house is delightful! It is exactly as described and the rental went smoothly with good communications between the owner and the manager of the property. It is ideally situated with all sights within walking distance. We especially liked the outdoor shower. The house is quaint, super clean and artfully decorated.

Fabulous home and experience!

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful week in this lovely home. The size and layout were perfect, the kitchen complete, and the pool SO refreshing. Everything was spotless. The neighborhood was quiet with a cute little grocery store a couple of blocks away where we got all we needed. Restaurants Chaya Maya was great. Highly recommend, would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Casa Kuxtal is close to markets, grocery stores, parks and is within walking distance of the central plaza. The house is nicely decorated and the King bed in the master bedroom is very comfy. We loved our stay in the house, which offered lots of privacy. Toma and Helene were friendly and helpful and were a delight to deal with. We had a wonderful time!

magical colonial beauty.

My wife and I were in Merida for 10 days at casa Kuxtal. Half the time we spent inside this wonderful house. I can't say enough good things about it! So beautiful and spacious. Israel was so nice and helpful and welcoming despite not speaking english. We are hoping to come back to the great spot next year :)

Very Cosy house!

Casa Kuxtal was the perfect place to stay for my week long trip. The location is ideal to discover downtown and many tour places are available in the area. The outside shower is not that bad and when I had a problem with one of the toilets the manager fixed it within a few hours. The pictures are not misleading. I have been to Merida many times and this place is a good deal.

Wonderful house. The owners were so easy to work with, helpful and accommodating. The location is great. A grocery store and Mercado very close. Thank god for the A/C! Nicely stocked kitchen. Some minor A/C problems which were taken care of within hours. Yes, I would stay there again.

Best option

Casa Kuxtal was the best option for me and my parents for our trip to Merida. We loved to stay at Kuxtal House, the beautiful architecture, the comfort, were just perfect for us. Location is super central but still quit and private. The renovated colonial house is beautiful and it had everything we needed. Communication worked great. I would love next time, to stay again in this beautiful place. Thank you Steban.

A relaxing oasis so close to the centro!

Our stay at Casa Kuxtal was absolutely worth it! The house is very well maintained and furnished with exquisite taste. The pool has a system of fountain which makes a very relaxing noise. We could go walking to the centre of Merida-we had amazing food at the restaurant Chaya Maya, highly recommended too! And there was a little market 100m from the house. We cannot wait to go back to Merida and will definately stay at Casa Kuxtal again, the owners were extremelly friendly and accomodating!

Amazing property, amazing location, amazing hosts!

My mother and I stayed for 6 nights at Casa Kuxtal and it was nothing short of spectacular. The house is even more gorgeous in person, especially the back yard! You are literally located on the main street that cuts through town and finding your way around is very, very easy (and Merida was extremely safe). While the house was great, what really made the trip special were the hosts, Thomas and Helene. They were available at any time and were very, very friendly and helpful. They emailed us a list of activities and places to eat and nothing disappointed. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun-filled getaway!

Month stay in a Historical Merida

Our month stay in Casa Kuxtal could not have been better. The house was spacious and very well equipped. (There we're even things like spare light bulbs and batteries.) In the Merida heat, the dipping pool was greatly appreciated. The location was perfect. It's a short walk to the heart of the Centro, but far enough away to avoid the congestion. However, it's a very short walk to some of the best restaurants. If you want to eat in, you can find what you need close by.

Casa Kuxtal is a dream home in a dream town. The house is warm, welcoming, full of charm and in such a wonderful location. Plaza Santa Ana is a hub of activity with restaurants, shops, and close to everything you'll want to see and do in Merida. The house managers made sure we knew our way around the city, and that we saw some things outside the city that most visitors may not have the opportunity to experience. Owner Fernanda and Esteban are also very caring people. Casa Kuxtal will exceed your expectations!

Wonderful location and beautiful home

The location is perfect for exploring Merida. If you are driving, the on-street parking is a piece of cake. We always found a spot within a block. Driving around the city is easy and many parking options. We enjoyed this property very much. Everything you need as far as the kitchen equipment. Caretakers were great folks who gave us really good suggestions of what to do and where to go. Only drawback, be sure to discuss the electrical surcharge not mentioned in the VRBO rates.
