We booked the Romantic Retreat room 14 at a premium for Valentine's weekend. Staffers were pleasant, helpful, and informative. Common areas (dining hall, sitting room, bar&lounge, gameroom) were quite nice and had an old world appeal, though we only utilized the gameroom's pool table and air hockey. We elected to have room service for dinner and breakfast with an additional charge of $20 per meal. They have carryout, but not for inn guests. The food was delicious and served hot. The "Romantic Retreat" room is not set up for eating. There is no table except for a small desk and one chair. The small ornamental rocking chair was of no use...a small bistro set in its place would be more useful. We ended up at the window seat with our meal sitting on our laps. Our room included a jacuzzi tub and a two sided gas fireplace. My one major con: the room was dusty and there were dead and live stink bugs... apparently a good walk through was not done close to our arrival. For the price we paid, we expected the room to be in top order. The low fireplace flames did little for ambience unless you were sitting on the floor. They are really not visible when in bed or in the tub.
