Very kind and serviceable. Main building is historic and well maintained. Peaceful place to visit while in town. Owners were very accommodating. Great experience.
The Mercersburg inn is a wonderful bed and breakfast nestled in a picturesque small town surrounded by mountains. It has beautiful architecture, both inside and out and possess a grand history. The building is well kept, clean, and furnished with fascinating antiques. There is even a large porch where you can enjoy a touch of nature and listen to singing birds. The staff is very accommodating and always present for assistance. There is a game room with various types of puzzles, a pool table and air hockey to help spend the time. A full bar is available with a fireplace to unwind after a long day. Definitely a place I will visit again.
I loved how very helpful and efficient
the Inn hostess Toni (? Sp.) was. The
breakfast was amazing. The Mansion
itself was beautiful. It does need some
work though as we discovered on our
walk around the property. I didn’t realize
that it didn’t have an elevator so the stairs
were a little difficult to navigate. As you
entered to check-in, there was a torn shade
that was an eyesore. They should replace that.
The parking is ample.
Unfortunately when we arrived there wasn’t anyone to greet us, even though we got there right at check in time. The keys were set out with a note to tell us what room and such. We booked a specific room, but did not get that room for some reason. Overall, the stay was good, but my husband and I have gone to other bed and breakfast spots and have formed a good bond with the owners… this felt more like a business.
The staff here ( owner) was super nice and even volunteered to feed us breakfast before the usual serving time. Our room was supposed to have a view of the Academy and the view was mostly non existent. A tiny patch of grass to the right when looking out the window. Don’t pay extra for the view! The room was funky. No door on the bathroom and the room had musty smell.
It’s ok if you like old things. The bed wasn’t super comfortable.
Needs fixed up. Liked electric plug in for EV6. Breakfast was served it was hot and enjoyable. Staff was friendly. Nice departing bag with water and snack
Charming, but almost deserted perhaps because we went during the off season. Very limited staff during the day. The place looks very tempting on the website but was a disappointment in reality.
The property was lovely, as was the proprietor. In fact it was really special.
What was not special was our rooom. We paid a significant upcharge for a nice room with a terrace, but it was just roof of a porch, and not grand or luxe enough to justify the upcharge.
The furniture was not original to the historic hotel.
The Innkeeper went out of her way to be helpful and gave us a little gift bag for the road when we left. we stayed in the cottage, so it was quiet and quite roomy. We were able to cross the road(busy) and then had the opportunity to amble around the grounds of the Academy just across the way. Only drawback: The neighbor down the hill keeps a cow in the backyard, so it's a bit smelly.

I was unable to check in. Thankfully the inn offered the credit to stay another day, so I will evaluate when it is time.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Disappointed reality vs internet website.
We were disappointed. Our room didn't met the expectations that was on the website.
We had bees, stinkbugs and cobwebs, in our room. The furniture was mismatched, lampshade torn, rugs dirty.
Housekeeping only provided 1 set of towels, and 1 roll of toilet paper. There wasn't a plunger in case there was clog. Window AC unit outdated, not efficient (didn't cool the room) and extremely loud. Thankfully the inn keeper provided earplugs as though someone had previously complained.
We had splurged on our hotel stay and were disappointed on the atmosphere. Very overpriced.
Awesome property and experience - highly recommend
This is a very beautiful property and the photos of the interior do not do it justice. The Innkeepers do their best to make you feel welcome - the gift bag was also a nice touch. The dinner was outstanding prepared by a gourmet chef and having a custom made breakfast on the balcony of our room was wonderful. One small nit would be that the exterior requires some TLC - a lot of the gardens were overgrown, had weeds in them and there were a few dead trees; the walls could use a fresh coat of paint or a power wash; there were couple of port-o-pots in the driveway so perhaps some renovations were underway. We will definitely return when we have a chance.
This is a charming inn with an attentive staff. They had a suite with an extra bed that was perfect for me and my granddaughters. The dining was excellent.
