This requirement was never communicated in advance, nor is it a standard or reasonable expectation in international hospitality. It also raises a serious concern—why should a woman need her husband’s written consent to stay at a hotel with her own child, especially when official identification clearly establishes the relationship? At the time, I was on a flight and unreachable, leaving my wife and child stranded in the middle of the night with no accommodation despite the stay being fully paid at Swiss Otel Büyük Efes İzmir.
