Wonderful experience in the woods
Had a wonderful time at hoodles hideaway. Peaceful nights 🙂. Friendly host Kath and caretaker Sherleey. Did learn a bit about widlife and farm animals from Sherlery who was very helpful.

Pink Cottage
We had an incredible Easter weekend getaway at the charming pink cottage in the midst of serene countryside. As a family of four, including two young children aged 5 and 3, it was the perfect escape from our busy routine. The spacious surroundings allowed our kids to frolic freely while we savored moments by the fire pit with a glass of wine. Our days were filled with delightful activities such as feeding the farm animals, leisurely walks, engaging board games, and indulgent BBQs for breakfast and dinner. Exploring the nearby waterfall, rainforest gallery, and quaint local cafes added to the adventure, alongside peaceful strolls through the bushes. The cottage itself was impeccably clean, and our hosts were readily available whenever we needed assistance. It truly was an unforgettable experience, and we're already looking forward to our next visit!

Beautiful peaceful place
We loved our week long stay at Hoddles. It is a lovely property and so peaceful. The animals and wildlife around the property make it a really unique experience. The owners and farm manager are really helpful and friendly. Couldn't have been any better. We would have happily stayed for longer. If you like nature and peace and quiet, this is the place to be. We fed the rescue animals (sheep, cows, chicks, alpacas) and also saw the Koala and so many birds. We had the best week here - thank you!

Lovely stay for a long weekend
We stayed here for a long weekend & loved it. House was clean & bathrooms were renovated. So much wildlife! We had a koala in a tree right outside the house, beautiful birds, adorable wombats plus the cows, chickens, sheep & llamas that we were given seeds & pellets to feed.

Great spot for two couples
We had a wonderful country stay here. It was just what we were looking for to get away from the city and appreciate Victoria's countryside again. The house is perfect for two couples and the owners are lovely and helpful.

Wonderful little cottage
We really enjoyed our stay at hoddles hideaway! It was warm and cozy. We especially loved the cows, sheep and chickens. We were lucky enough to be given 6 freshly laid eggs for breakfast which was so nice.

Missing Touches
Lovely area. The cottage was magnificent but ... Oven was filthy. Dish rack rusty. Tissue box had 6 or 7 tissues then there were none for our stay. TV remote power switch inoperative so had to manually switch on and off and it needed new batteries. There were other issues. Owner very apologetic and helpful.

It was nice, although my experience of staying in properties away from shops and off the beaten track are the hosts usually leave bread, milk, butter and a very special bonus of fresh farm eggs. It makes the stay extra memorable and special. Was a little disappointed that the hosts didn’t go the extra mile.

.Thanks Libby. Our guests are always more than welcome to have fresh eggs . We do provide tea and coffee and pantry staples. We also let people know we are a long way from shops so it’s good to have some provisions. Covid regulations stopped us providing food. But if people really want it, we could provide breakfast baskets again. We always go the extra mile, like helping you find the horse riding experience you asked about and suggestions of places to visit.

A country side farmstay
A great place in the woods of tropical rainforest and up in the hills of the Yarra Ranges to chill out with abandoned animals being cared for by the owners. Totally quiet calm and serene environment to chill out and recharge yourself. Caring hosts and care taker who are friendly and approachable.

Peaceful rustic getaway in the bush
This cottage was the perfect place for me and the kids to unwind after a hectic festive end-of-year. Kath was a responsive host who replied quickly when I enquired if I could invite a few extra kids on some nights. If you have young kids - it's a good idea to come prepared with all the essentials - panadol, bandaids, stingose etc - as the general items you have on hand are a 20-30 min drive for essentials - but no problem if you come prepared. Our highlight was greeting, feeding and patting the farm animals. Sheralee - the caretaker - was welcoming, very helpful about which animals were tame and which to leave alone - and encouraged interaction and egg collection from the chooks. She was a breath of fresh air and the kids raced to greet her each morning and talk to her about which of the animals had been naughty! The sunsets and stars at night were beautiful and it was a lovely change of pace. Thanks for having us :)

Glad you loved our cottage. We disagree its hard to find as it is clearly marked on Google maps plus we give all our guests clear directions. Yes, it is in a super private and peaceful setting which is why its so popular, yet only 75 mins from Bayside. ( so not really remote).We provide pantry staples and always remind people to pick up supplies on the way through.

Night Before The Wedding
My bridesmaids and I stayed here the night before my wedding. It was the perfect place to stay for a girls night! Slept the 6 of us comfortably (pairing up two to a bed) and the pink colour of the house made for really cute “girls weekend” photos in our matching pink pjs. My 3 year old son got ready with us in the morning and the house had provided kids toys and play equipment which he loved. He also got to meet one of the sheep and was given farm fresh eggs which seemed to be the highlight of his morning. If you are looking for a girls getaway or a bridal party retreat - this is your place!

Great little house!
Excellent house in an excellent location. We had a lovely couple of days despite the rain. Feedback would include upgrading the sofas opposite the tv (very lumpy & uncomfortable) and provide Wi-Fi which is a must for internal travellers. Regardless, we would highly, highly recommend.

The pink house on the hill
Such a beautiful little house in an incredible landscape, the owners were lovely, the animals so friendly and so many of them. So many games and activities inside. It rained our whole stay but the beauty of the pink home in the rain and all the nature to explore meant it was actually such a lovely trip. The owner sent us a great detailed email of all the close by activities and restaurants which came in so handy. Overall just a great experience would recommend time and time again

The house was very neatly kept and the view from the house can be framed.. we stayed for 3 nights but we mostly stayed in and walked around the property.. it was quiet and blissful. A relaxing getaway
We had a wonderful time at Kath's pink cottage. The day of our arrival was super humid- we appreciated that Kath turned on all the air conditioners in each room. We felt so much more comfortable and cooler when we walked into the house. How thoughtful and sweet! The girls would love to come back one day and hope to see more animals on the farm. :-)

This beautiful cottage has had so much care and thought put into providing a relaxing, peaceful experience for their guests. It truly is a place to switch off, slow down and to create some great memories. We loved feeding the cows each morning and the birds were very talkative and entertaining. I can’t recommend this cottage enough, my only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! The hosts were absolutely wonderful, Kath is absolutely right about the incredible sunsets

Amazing farm stay
A beautiful 2 bedroom immaculate property away from the city surrounded by the Yarra Ranges. Cows, Alpacas, sheep, native birds and chickens on the property. A short drive to Gembrook for the essentials. The peace and serenity was incredible. Kath was an exceptionally accomodating host.

Hidden gem close to the city
Katharine and Mark were super communicative and accommodating. We had a wonderful time and saw a LOT of wildlife, despite the recent storms that cut off the power for our entire stay there. We look forward to visiting again!
