Very high class, old world style and charm. Conviently located in the heart of the town. Exceptional in all ways. The only drawback was the air conditioning was a small box that didn't serve its purpose very well, however it's only needed in the late afternoon in summer. Otherwise a top notch hotel!

The hotel is lovely. Views magnificient. The little town is adorable. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Used this as a base to go visit Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen. Lots of history. Breakfast was yummy. The only two issues we had with the room was the lack of significant lighting in the bathroom. There was one small recessed light. The other thing was the corner shower was very tight for the hubs.

Great views, location breakfast, hotel needs work

The view and location in the village are the best part of the room we staying in. Meiringen is very walkable, even to the gorge and falls. The breakfast was extraordinary. They had anything you'd ever want for breakfast, and, an espresso machine that actually did a pretty good job. There was no heat or AC, they said it was central. Probably not turned on though due to the season. Ok, BUT not when it’s 85°F/30°C inside the room. Very nice outside though. No matter, we thought we’d open the windows. Except then flies and gnats came flying in because of no screens. There were 4 receptacles, but, with only 4 operable plugs. Sounds ok until you realize the available outlets are by the desk (perfect!), in back of the bed, in back of a couch, and next to the door at switch height all with stuff plugged into them. That left only one functional outlet out of each receptacle at each location. So…we couldn’t plug in chargers, laptop, and the fan they gave us, practically. Plus the fan wouldn’t do any good behind the couch, behind the bed, or next to the entrance hanging upside down. Refrigerator didn’t work well. It essentially put out an excessive amount of heat just to cool items barely below room temperature. Also, apparently the hotel wanted a photo op of the hotel with all the lights on, which adds more heat to the room, or, more flies and gnats if you keep the windows open with the lights on. Our advice is to focus on the hotel condition, not the photo op.

Prachtig klassiek hotel in het hart van Meiringen Samen met mijn 10-jarige dochter verbleef ik (vader) één nacht in Parkhotel du Sauvage in Meiringen, en dat was een bijzonder aangename ervaring. Het hotel is gevestigd in een prachtig, klassiek gebouw met een interieur dat de grandeur van het verleden ademt ─ stijlvol, statig en met oog voor detail. De ligging is centraal met diverse restaurants op korte loopafstand. De ontvangst aan de receptie was buitengewoon vriendelijk. Wij hadden een kamer aan de achterzijde, niet heel ruim, maar mooi ingericht in de stijl van het hotel en comfortabel. Het uitzicht vanuit de kamer was bovendien magnifiek. De badkamer was modern, smaakvol en schoon, en paste verrassend goed bij de klassieke sfeer van het hotel. Het hotel beschikt (aan de achterzijde) over een schitterende tuin waar je kunt eten en drinken. In de kelder bevindt zich nog een sfeervolle Irish pub – je kunt hier ook dineren. En dan is er nog de fraaie ontbijtruimte, die je eigenlijk niet mag missen ─ al is dat dus precies wat door mijn treuzelende dochter de volgende ochtend wél is gebeurd. Haar huisarrest duurt nog voort. Het ontbijt kan ik daarom tot mijn spijt niet beoordelen ... Kortom: een charmant en sfeervol hotel, met karakter, comfort en gastvrijheid. Wij kijken ernaar uit om nog eens terug te komen!

마치 숨은 보석같은 호텔

이번 여행을 통해서 Meiringen이라는 마을도 알게 되었고 좋은 호텔도 알게 되었습니다. 우선 호텔 외관이나 정문쪽부터 고풍스러운 느낌을 주는 호텔인데, 그 느낌이 실내까지 일관되게 잘 표현되어 있습니다. 마치 고전 영화에 나오는 듯 한 느낌의 호텔입니다. 체크인 시 직원분께서 너무나도 친절하셨습니다. 보통 대부분의 호텔도 친절한 분들이 많지만 이 호텔에서 저희를 맞아주셨던 직원분은 너무 친절하셨고, 하나하나 설명을 너무 잘 해주셨습니다. 방에서 바라보는 밤하늘과 병풍같은 산의 풍경이 너무 아름다웠습니다. 다른 방을 배정받은 일행은 방이 좀 추웠다고 했는데, 제가 있었던 방은 충분히 따뜻했었습니다. 호텔 투숙객은 호텔 옆 아래층에 위치한 바에서 할인된 가격으로 술을 마시거나 간단한 음식을 주문할 수 있는데요, 여기 바에서 먹는 치킨이 아주 맛이 좋았습니다. 대부분의 한국인들이 여행하는 코스에서는 조금 벗어나 있지만, 자동차로 움직이시는 분들은 셜록홈즈의 자취가 남아있는 Meiringen도 방문해보고, 이 호텔에서 숙박하는 것도 추천할 만 합니다. 그 외에도 Aareschlucht 관광지도 가볼만 합니다. 제가 다시 스위스를 여행하게 되면 또 방문하고 싶은 호텔입니다.

Hotel mit Flair. Kleines Zimmer - noch kleineres Bad - aber es ist alles was man braucht. Vor allem ganz viel Stil. Gutes Frühstück. Und im Pub im selben Haus gibt es 20 % Rabatt auf Getränke und Speisen, wenn man Hotelgast ist. Super leckeres Essen, tolle Getränke - TOP. Sich super freundliche Rezeptions-Dame.

Grote kamer en een heerlijk bed. Fijn zitje in de grote kamer. Badkamer behoeft een modernisering. Tegels kapot, douchen in bad met douche gordijn die niet meer van deze tijd is. Er was geen airco en er was een klein ventilatortje die de warmte niet aan kon. Uitzicht en ambiance vangnet hotel was erg mooi.

Haben und Wohlgefühlt…

Sehr gepflegtes Hotel… etwas speziell, da nur sehr begrenzte Anwesenheit von Receptionspersonal..Zimmer sind gross und vom Standard her aus den 80er, aber noch immer alles im Schuss und sehr sauber.. schöner Ausblick auf den Alpbachfall.
