Large Private Carriage-House Retreat with Amazing Views

Nestled in the hills just above the Roxy Ann Winery and minutes from Roxy Ann Peak hiking trails, this beautifully furnished and unusually large 2 story luxury unit has amazing views of the nearby vineyard, the valley and surrounding mountains. High above and behind the owner’s home on their gated property, this very private, unique and tranquil space has countless amenities.

Not only is the Roxy Ann Retreat a perfect location for a romantic getaway, but it also offers enough floor space to accommodate families with small children (if you bring your own travel crib or aero bed).

Centrally located, it’s a quick walk to the Roxy Ann Winery and a short drive to Ashland and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Jacksonville, Rogue River, Lake of the Woods and surrounding areas.

Relax on the deck with your loved ones (or from the large window in the bedroom) and watch our breathtaking sunsets, after a day of wine tasting, theatre or rafting.

About the Owner: Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, husband and wife, David and Elyse Roxander, have been teaching dance, directing and choreographing for over 20 years. One of the things they enjoy most about the Rogue Valley is the ever changing seasons and the physical beauty of the area. They are also frequent visitors to the nearby Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the quaint and charming town of Ashland.

Not only are we a short trip to the Shakespeare Festival, local wineries, and more, our home is a mere 2 minute drive to the Roxy Ann Peak hiking trails, which boast some of the most amazing and panoramic views of the valley. On a clear day you can see forever!

Perfect location in a quiet neighborhood. Just what we needed as my better half ran in the local half marathon. Less than 30 minutes to Ashland and Lithia Park. Will stay here again. Amazing place to stay.

The Carriage House does not disappoint. It is a clean and tidy space, well apportioned, with a comfortable bed. Spacious and welcoming it made our stay nice and easy.

Love This Place

Really nice property in east Medford. It's pretty big and comfortable. Elyse has been hosting for a while and has done a nice job with it. She knows what she's doing.I come to Medford a few times a year and will definitely be back.

Great Place!

Really glad I found this property. It’s in East Medford on a quiet street close to the places I visit. It is a comfortable, nice, large space. The layout feels spacious and was perfect for me. It would work well for a couple, too. Elyse and her family are really nice and were super helpful. I will definitely stay here again.

Roxy Ann Retreat

I needed a place to stay while working out of town for a couple of months. This place was everything I needed, and then some! Nice neighborhood, but close to Roxy Ann peak for hiking and close to town for everything else. Very quiet and secure neighborhood and secure parking behind a gate behind the main house. The hosts provided everything I needed, and while the "apartment" is in their backyard, it felt like I had my own place all to myself. Great sunset views across the valley, and a nice deck to enjoy the evenings or a morning cup of coffee. I would most definitely stay here again!

Lovely and spacious

This is a spacious and very nice property. The upstairs master suite is great if one/other guests need study or work privacy. Kiitchen was very well appointed with quality working appliances. There are staircases to access the property and master suite, so infirm potential guests should consider that prior to booking. Also, the location is at the top of a steep hill area, so walking distances can be strenuous. However, views are spectacular due to that location. This was an extremely nice property and hosts were responsive, while giving us privacy. Check out procedures were nicely provided on a checklist. We had an excellent stay.

Nice accommodation

Was in Medford for my 50th high school reunion and this was a perfect location near the venue. The space was just right for me and would work well for a couple. Interior was nicely furnished and well stocked with kitchen and bath needs. The unit was above the garage behind the house which was fine except the stairs leading up to it were fairly steep. As a 68 year old man with balance issues, I had to be extra careful when navigating them. The driveway leading up to the garage was also steep and it was a bit of a challenge getting back down. These were changes for me but likely not a problem for the vast majority of others. Overall I would definitely recommend it.

Comfortable stay

The carriage house was super well appointed and thought out with everything to make your stay comfortable. Bed and pillows were soft, k cups and tea provided was really nice. Quiet and comfortable. Nice hosts who were very responsive.

Relocating and working

The property was perfect for my husband to work. There was a nice desk in the bedroom. I could be in the living area on a separate floor and not worry about disturbing his work. The view from the deck was beautiful. Very comfortable all around stay. Highly recommended!

The carriage house was such a beautiful, well kept, secure and fun getaway!! We enjoyed the evening sunset from the deck and the beautiful city lights from the sitting area in the bedroom. Looking forward to coming back here again!!

Wonderful place and ambience

Great location and well thought out decor. Well stocked with everything we needed, plus some extras-especially the special popcorn. Fantastic neighborhood, quiet and upscale with great sunset and evening views of the mountains and overlooking the valley. Super comfortable and central to explore Grants Pass, Crater Lake, Jacksonville, Ashland and of course Medford and vicinity. The owners pay attention to detail and we would highly recommend and would come again. Thanks for a great stay.

Modern and comfortable home base

We had a very nice and comfortable stay in the house. Everything inside is clean and modern- good beds, bathroom with tub, good, well-equipped kitchen equipment and stove (we cooked nearly every day). A/C worked great (but didn't really need it much in May). The deck is wonderful to enjoy a home-cooked (or take-out) meal- high in the hills facing directly to the sunset. The communications and check-in process was smooth and easy. Really- an excellent option for a stay in Medford.
