The Best Alaskan Get Away Retreat For Your Family Or Group

"This place is even better in person! We LOVED our time. They did everything right. Kitchen was well stocked with most everything you’d need to cook a nice meal. Just a note to bring spices and condiments you may need. There is plenty of room for a very large group. The deck is such a lovely place to end the day with a glass of wine on a summer evening watching the sun "not" set (we were there in mid-June!)! Very tranquil and fairly remote. And the view is spectacular!"

"Great property and location. The hosts were very attentive and had everything that we needed supplied in the home. We would definitely go back.The upstairs bedroom was very nice, but the open loft does not allow for a very quiet night sleep or morning when others are in the kitchen. Not sure how that could be remedied, but the bed was so comfy and the sauna was a bonus. Thank you for a great stay."

"We had a wonderful stay in this lovely home in the Prominence Point area of Anchorage. The neighborhood is quiet, upscale, and close to the water—exactly what we were hoping for. Our hostess was incredibly gracious, and the home itself was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained.This is a hosted stay, with the owners living upstairs, but they were so respectful of our space that it truly felt like we had the main floor to ourselves. It has more of a charming bed and breakfast feel than a private villa, which worked out perfectly for us once we settled in.We loved the thoughtful touches—fresh fruit, breakfast items, and even visits from their sweet cat, who was a delight. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, welcoming home base in Anchorage."

"This was a clean, very nicely done apartment on the lower level of the home. A parking spot in the driveway was provided and there was a separate entrance on the side of the home. You will have access to everything you would need for your stay including dishes, stove, microwave, hot water kettle (electronic), full size fridge and freezer, in suite washer/dryer combo, TV, livingroom, dining room and separate bedroom with en suite full shower. Quiet location. Room was cool like we like it and heater is available if needed. Easy to check in and out and the hosts were fantastic communicators and supper accommodating. Convenient location to the Seward highway on the east side of Anchorage and minutes from the Anchorage Airport. If you are coming to Anchorage, choose this wonderful, safe property with great views."

Bear Valley Cabin

"The cabin was delightful and we were very pleased with how well the owners provided everything you could possibly need. There was plenty of space to put luggage out of the way and to hang up coats and put boots next to the door.The place was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The only negative was that there was no place on one side of the bed to put a water glass, pills, book or anything of that nature. We emptied the tiny bookcase that was next to the couch in the living room and put it side wise to make a nightstand on that side of the bed. For anyone that is quite large it should be known that there is very little room on that side and foot of the bed to maneuver. We were a little disappointed in the surroundings of the cabin. It really wasn't an area to make you want to be outside. The weather was such that we were happy to be inside and warm but if it had been beautiful weather, it would have been disappointing to not enjoy being in the out of doors. The location was on the far outskirts of Anchorage, which made it very quiet but it was also quite a distance to go out to dinner at places other than fast foods and chains."

"We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful mountain-top VRBO. The cabin is located in a stunning setting with breathtaking surroundings and other homes nearby, creating a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere.The rental is a basement unit, with the homeowners living upstairs. While you can occasionally hear footsteps and piano playing, the family was very respectful and made every effort to keep noise to a minimum during our stay. The fan in the master bedroom also helped muffle most of the upstairs sounds, especially during naps.The basement is beautifully constructed, spacious, and very comfortable. Having a washer and dryer available was a great convenience, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We arrived late after a long day of travel and were exhausted. We had forgotten to stop and buy creamer for our morning coffee, so finding a box of creamer in the refrigerator was a thoughtful surprise and greatly appreciated.Overall, this was a comfortable, well-appointed place to stay in a gorgeous mountain setting. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway."
