Highly recommend. The views and the river behind the property are breathtaking. Its very clean and has everything you need and the beds are superb 👌. Secluded yet its only 15-20 minutes from everything. I will definitely book again! Five stars!
The house was great for a small family or 2 couples. The creek was awesome and the kids really enjoyed it. The local neighborhood dog Lilly was a nice treat when she visited.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin was beautiful and the sound of the waters was soothing. I caught 3 nice rainbows the 1st. evening. I didn’t catch any the next day, but had fun trying. We relaxed on the covered deck with a fire in the fireplace in the evening. Excellent place to unwind. Highly recommend it, if you wish to unplug and unwind.
The cabin and the property was beautiful! Sitting outside listening to the creek was peaceful. We were able to fish, saw lots of deer, secluded, but close to town. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Would definitely recommend internet access to be able to utilize smart TVs and new mattresses or just adding some thick mattress toppers would do the trick. Definitely a good choice if you're looking to stay in the area.
Great relaxing trip with college daughter and her pup! The sound of the river was intoxicating! Only complaint is the steep driveway with loose gravel- hard to get out (we had a truck- with light bed) it struggled to gain traction. Front-wheel drive would probably be better other than that- just as advertised!
Beautiful spot! Even with Neighbors across the river, is still private. Loved relaxing, falling asleep and waking up to the sound of nature. Nightly fires in the outdoor fireplace were just what the soul needed. Cell service is somewhat a challenge, but that is the point sometimes...relax, unplug.
This is the perfect getaway. Downfall may be lack of internet (but it was a positive for us). Also, the driveway can be a little tricky to navigate. Otherwise, the cabin and location were perfect. Spent most our time on that magical porch listening to the stream. Easy drive to McCaysville. Loved it!

Great cabin!
Cabin was awesome! The listing didn't really show it but there are other cabins directly across the creek. Not a big deal, just wish we would have known that. Also, the huge windows on the main floor have no curtains or blinds so it kind of felt like we lost a bit of privacy as a result. We wanted to use the outside fireplace but it was a bit confusing because it has a gas line with a valve next to it but there was a fire-starter log and firewood next to it also. I emailed the rental company but got an auto reply saying they wouldn't respond until monday 9 to 5pm (of course we were only there for the weekend). Again, not too big of a deal but there could have been better instructions for that. I have to say again though, the cabin itself is awesome! Probably the best of this size we have ever stayed in and we rent cabins alot especially in the Tenn-NC-GA area.
Chose BTL for two reasons. It was on Fightingtown Creek and it had recliners. Otherwise it was on par with other quality homes for rent as advertised.
Unfortunately, The picture of the living room on VRBO was not correct and there were no recliners. Just low back chairs with ottomans. Hard to relax in a chair when you have to slouch to get back support. We also had a problem with the water. Heavy sediment was getting through the cold water lines and clogging the faucets in the bathrooms and the line to the washing machine. We notified the management company and they did everything they could but it is a problem for the owner to resolve. I documented this and other issues for the management company to forward to the owner as I assume no other renter had.
We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the covered porch and watching the creek flow by. We had a fire in the outdoor fireplace on two nights when it was cooler. There is a downed and segmented tree on site to be used for firewood if you feel up to splitting it by hand. Several fishermen waded the creek in search of trout but had no luck.
The house was very clean to the credit of the management company. I appreciated that music was playing when we entered the house. The house is well decorated with a brown trout theme and there are float tubes under the deck if you want to use them.
Host was very welcoming and we enjoyed our stay very much. We’d love to come back again. Highly recommend Brown Trout cabin which is right on the river.
Cabin was clean and comfortable. It's right next to Fightingtown Creek, so whether you just want to enjoy the sound of the flowing water or like to fly fish, the location is excellent. The entrance might bother some since it's very steep with loose gravel, but if you know how to drive, it's manageable.
We had a most beautiful stay in the cabin. We did have trouble getting out of the driveway a couple of times. Definitely need 4Wheel drive to leave out of the driveway.
