About this property

A Storybook Cape Cod Cottage by the Sea

  • Welcome to your little corner of Cape Cod.

Tucked inside enchanting Maushop Village at New Seabury, this charming one-bedroom seaside cottage is a place made for slow mornings, salty air, barefoot walks to the beach and evenings that seem to last just a little longer.

Inspired by the timeless beauty of Nantucket, Maushop feels like a tiny storybook village beside the sea, weathered cedar-shingled cottages, white picket fences, hydrangeas, brick walkways and winding lanes leading toward the blue waters of Nantucket Sound.

And just approximately 300 feet from the cottage is one of Maushop's greatest treasures: private access to its beautiful sandy beach along Nantucket Sound, one of the warmest bodies of saltwater in Massachusetts.

    ✦ THE COTTAGE

Step inside a quintessential Cape escape designed to feel warm, comfortable and wonderfully nostalgic.

The cottage features a cozy bedroom with a queen bed, plus a daybed tucked into the sunroom for additional sleeping space.

Curl up in the living room after a day at the beach with a Smart TV, Xumo, complimentary Wi-Fi and Peacock streaming, or unplug completely with a board game and something from our collection of books celebrating Cape Cod and its coastal history.

A bright sunroom offers another peaceful corner of the cottage, perfect for morning coffee, an afternoon read or simply enjoying the slower pace of life by the sea.

When you'd rather stay in for dinner, the kitchen is stocked with the essentials for your stay, including a refrigerator and freezer, microwave, toaster, blender, Keurig coffee maker, electric kettle, pots, pans, plates, glasses and utensils.

Outside, your private brick patio and grill invite easy Cape Cod evenings at home. Fire up the grill after the beach, settle in outdoors and enjoy the salt air as another day on the Cape winds down.

The bathroom includes a bathtub/shower combination, hair dryer, curling iron, shampoo and conditioner, plus linens and towels are provided for your stay.

You'll also have the conveniences that make longer stays easy: washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, air conditioning and heat.

When it's time for the beach? We've got that covered, too.

Beach chairs and umbrellas are provided, so grab what you need and make your way toward the shore.

✦ 300 FEET FROM THE BEACH

One of the most magical parts of staying in Maushop is having private access to its sandy beach.

Two nearby routes lead toward the water, each offering a different experience.

Take the gently sloped walking path toward the sand, or wander to Maushop's spectacular bluff-top overlook, where a wooden viewing platform and benches offer sweeping views across Nantucket Sound and the surrounding coastline. Bring your morning coffee. Sit for a while after an afternoon walk. Watch the water change with the weather. Or return as evening approaches simply to take in the view.

From the overlook, a staircase descends the bluff toward the beach during the warmer months. The staircase is seasonal and closes during the fall and winter, but the overlook remains a beautiful destination in its own right. The alternate walking path provides year round access to the beach.

With the beach so close to the cottage, there's no packing the car or searching for a parking spot.

Grab a chair, towel and umbrella and go.

✦ WHEN THE STARS COME OUT

The magic of Maushop doesn't end when the sun goes down.

On clear nights, step outside and look up. Away from the brighter lights of the city, Cape Cod's night sky can put on a beautiful show, with stars overhead and Nantucket Sound disappearing into the darkness beyond the bluff.

Take an evening stroll through the quiet cedar-shingled village, wander toward the water or stop at the bluff-top overlook for one last look across the Sound beneath the stars.

During especially clear nights and meteor showers, shooting stars abound.

It's one of Maushop's simplest pleasures and one that's easy to miss if you don't know to look for it.

Beach days. Starry nights. Your little Cape Cod cottage in between.

✦ THE WOODED TRAIL TO POPPONESSET

Part of the magic of Maushop is being able to leave the car behind.

Follow a wooded ⅓-mile walking trail to nearby Popponesset Marketplace & Inn, turning dinner, ice cream or an evening out into a charming part of the Cape Cod experience itself.

In season, stroll over for lobster rolls and fresh seafood, pizza, sandwiches, coffee and pastries, smoothies and ice cream. Browse seaside boutiques and Cape Cod shops, play a round of mini golf, visit the arcade or spend a summer evening enjoying live entertainment.

Pick up something delicious, wander back along the wooded trail and through the storybook lanes of Maushop.

Cottage. Beach. Poppy. All within walking distance.

Popponesset Marketplace businesses, entertainment and activities are seasonal, and individual operating dates and hours vary.

✦ FOUR SEASONS BY THE SEA

Cape Cod doesn't stop being beautiful when summer ends and neither does this cottage.

    SUMMER ☀️

    This is classic Cape Cod.

Spend long days on Maushop's private beach, enjoy the lively atmosphere of the marketplace, experience fine dining with sweeping waterfront views at the historic Popponesset Inn or grill dinner on the patio and wander toward the bluff as evening settles over Nantucket Sound.

Come home sandy, sun-kissed and completely content.

    AUTUMN 🍂

When the summer crowds begin to disappear, the Cape takes on an entirely different kind of beauty.

Crisp mornings, changing leaves, quiet beaches and peaceful coastal walks make fall one of the loveliest times to experience Maushop.

Make a hot cup of coffee, explore the Cape by day and return to your cozy cottage by the sea.

    WINTER ❄️

Winter reveals the quiet side of Cape Cod.

Bundle up for a windswept walk beside Nantucket Sound, explore without the summer crowds and return to the warmth of your cottage.

Make tea or hot cocoa, choose a Cape Cod book or board game and settle in for a cozy evening.

It's peaceful, romantic and wonderfully removed from the rest of the world.

    SPRING 🌷

    Cape Cod slowly awakens.

Longer days return, flowers begin appearing throughout the village and the anticipation of another Cape summer can be felt everywhere.

Breathe in the salt air, walk the shoreline and watch Maushop come back to life during one of its most peaceful seasons.

    ✦ EXPLORE CAPE COD

As tempting as it may be to spend your entire stay between the cottage, beach and Poppy, Maushop also makes a wonderful home base for discovering Cape Cod.

Nearby Mashpee Commons offers restaurants, cafés, boutiques, shopping and entertainment just a short drive away.

Head toward Falmouth and Woods Hole for classic village streets, waterfront scenery, the Shining Sea Bikeway, Nobska Light, or hop on a quick ferry to Martha's Vineyard.

Explore Hyannis and Hyannis Port, discover the Cape's maritime and Kennedy history, or spend the day wandering the beaches and villages of the Mid-Cape or take a ferry to Nantucket.

For a longer adventure, travel toward the unforgettable landscapes of the Cape Cod National Seashore, with historic lighthouses, sweeping Atlantic beaches and dramatic dunes.

Continue all the way to Provincetown at the tip of Cape Cod for galleries, restaurants, historic streets and some of the Cape's most distinctive coastal scenery.

Explore for the day, then come home to your quiet little cottage beside Nantucket Sound.

    ✦ NEW SEABURY

Maushop Village is nestled within New Seabury, one of Cape Cod's signature seaside communities.

The surrounding community is home to championship golf, including the spectacular Ocean Course overlooking Nantucket Sound, as well as additional seasonal dining and recreational destinations.

Please note: Your cottage stay does not include membership to The Club at New Seabury or access to members-only golf or other private Club amenities. Restaurant availability, public access and operating hours may vary.

✦ COME LIVE A LITTLE CAPE COD STORY

There are plenty of places to stay on Cape Cod.

But there are very few places quite like Maushop.

Here, the beach is part of the neighborhood. Nantucket Sound is just beyond the cottages. A wooded trail can lead to lively entertainment. A walk through the village can end on a bluff overlooking the sea. And when darkness falls, the stars shine.

Summer means barefoot beach days and long evenings outside.

Autumn brings crisp air, changing leaves and quiet seaside walks.

Winter means cozy nights, windswept shores, Cape Cod books and peaceful escapes.

Spring brings flowers, longer days and the village slowly awakening for another summer by the sea.

It's whimsical without trying to be.

    Nostalgic without feeling old-fashioned.

    Peaceful without feeling isolated.

    And beautiful in every season.

Whether you're planning a romantic getaway, a summer beach vacation, a peaceful fall weekend or a cozy winter escape, we hope you'll make yourself at home.

Wander the village. Walk through the woods. Gaze at the stars. Sit above the Sound and listen to waves crash the shore.

Then come home to your own little cottage by the sea.

Come for the beach. Stay for the magic.
