EXPEDIA should be ashamed of themselves to have a property in their system of this caliber!! This is CANADA. We have much higher standards than this. Upon arrival, the door/screen door was wide open and upon entering there was NOBODY in the whole house. I called the phone number of the Mamora Inn and got a person who said " write your name & particulars on the paper at the desk and let yourself in, I will be back there at 9:30p" (this was at 4p). The cleanliness was a zero, the house smelt MOLDY, all the room doors were open, the place looked DINGY. There was not a person in this house!!! The front door & screen door were put together with a clothes hanger so you couldn't close the front door so we had to leave it wide open. Critters, humans, all are welcome! Of course, we could not stay there as we felt very UNSAFE in there. We called Expedia explained the above and they were of little help. SHAME on you EXPEDIA. I told them to look on the previous reviews since last year, which were also appalling ( shame on me to not look before I arrived as it was suggested to me by my family).

The Inn location was excellent for the funeral home. The room full filled all our needs. The restaurant Victoria was an awesome host/plus great food for our group of 20. It also included an indoor pool for the kids.

We had the entire top floor four our group of 8. It was more than big enough for all of us and very comfortable. Was very convenient to have a restaurant open for dinner on the main level and made delicious food. Gas station with KFC and pizza was within a few minutes walk away also. The sauna in pool area was not working and the pool was very cold. It could use a heater to make the pool swimmable. My son went for a swim and his lips turned blue, was very cold.

there was no hot water and when asked about this the lady at reception said she will let her husband know once he is back after 9 am ! the building is super old , washroom are shared between rooms , NO air condition ! there was a $50 resort fees ... FOR WHAT ??? we paid about $185 per night

Stayed at the Marmora and Lake Inn due to its' proximity to a work site. My personal view is that I found the experience staying here disappointing. I booked through Expedia and felt the room and property did not match the listing photos. The room I received was different from what was shown online. While acceptable, it was not what I expected. Cleanliness was my biggest concern. One bed appeared clean, but the twin bed was very dusty and had hair on the bedding. I ended up shaking out the bedding outside before using it. Throughout the property, including the lobby and staircase, things appeared dusty, worn, and poorly maintained. The owner was friendly and pleasant, which was a positive. However, the common areas felt more like a hostel than a bed and breakfast, with buckets, mops, and other miscellaneous items left around. The exterior also appeared neglected. Breakfast was basic, with bread, coffee, peanut butter, and Nutella. More concerning was the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area. Dishes felt sticky, tables appeared unwiped, and garbage had not been emptied. The pool also looked far less appealing than the photos suggested. Overall, while the owner was kind, I found the property dusty, poorly maintained, and not accurately represented online. Given the price, I was disappointed with the value received and would not stay here again.

Lovely staff that are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to help; even moving a guests car with permission while we ate dinner due to the snow! Great restaurant that had just opened the week prior. Overall a fantastic stay. I’ll stay here again any time I am in town.

Family stay in rural Ontario

A very welcoming stay to a beautiful Edwardian colonial-style house with plenty of original features such as staircase and rich wooden doors and panelling. Well heated and comfortable room and, essential for any good hotel stay, a nice hot shower! Simple but plentiful breakfast and very convenient off-street parking.

This unique 120 year old house has so much charm and character. The furnishings are almost all authentic and the service I received was sincere. If I'm ever back in the area, I will definitely stay there again.

It was a nice stay in the upper room. Only con was the person who woke up at 3am and started using the microwave and keurig right outside my room (my room butted up to the kitchen). Luckily I was able to get back to sleep. All and all, a nice stay.

Was somewhat disappointed. Restaurant not open for either dinner or breakfast. No one there for checkout. Had character but was shabby and dark. Indoor Pool area was overheated and extra charges augmented the price considerably from the one advertised. Needs better decor and upgrades to be an appealing hotel.
