The piedmont of the Black Forest is less distinct. North of the valley exit, the steeply rising old castle ruins dominates; to the southwest begins the hilly landscape of the Markgräflerland. Staufen lies on the border between two natural and economic areas: the Rhine plain up to the piedmont with its cultivation of grain, vineyards and vegetables; and the Black Forest, with its cattle and wood, and, until the 19th century, silver mines.

Es gab zwei Zimmer, eines davon hat nicht mal eine Tür und man kriegt jedes Geräusch aus dem Haus mit, zudem ist dieses Zimmer ein Durchgangszimmer zum Bad. "Pros: Zeer net en mooi huis, waarin alles voorzien was. Fijne ontvangst door de verhuurders. Kippetjes waren een grote meerwaarde voor de kinderen. Heel fijn dat ze ze mochten eten geven. Dm en supermarkt op wandelafstand was heel aangenaam. Rheingärten in de buurt was ook hele fijne meerwaarde, als uitstap met de kinderen. "I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Meyerhof. The staff members were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The hotel room was comfortable and well-maintained, giving the feeling that the hotel truly invests in its guests’ comfort. I also appreciated the nice hospitality touches, such as the free tea and coffee machine. The town centre is very close by. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would gladly recommend this hotel"

"We had a fantastic stay at Maxamillion hotel, staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much bother for them. We had a slight issue with our hot water supplies no big issues, but staff sorted it out for us. Our beds were so comfortable and clean, we had a kitchen in our room with a fridge which was amazing. The hotel is in a great location, outside our hotel is the bridge you can walk over into France. I would Definitely recommend this hotel for friendliness, location, and great staff. I would definitely would stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful hospitality "
